Great counsel
This is a must play course the front nine is the most challenging .
very solid greens
This course is no joke. I play from the tips and with the wind at this place being near the lake, over 6800 yards can seem like 7100 or 6500 depending on direction. Some really fun par 4s (around the 300 mark), some long tough par 3s, and overall really nice design. There are a few holes that aren't really "fair" starting with the 1st. they require some near perfect shots. other than that, great course for the money and a close drive from chicago. well worth every dollar.
Challenging
I love playing this course but it is deceptively difficult. Bring extra balls.
Loved this course
I have always looked for a chance to play Lost Marsh. Nephews have almost adopted this course as their Go To Course. Now I know why. The course is beautiful, layout great and conditions were out of this world. Only drawback was the pace on the back nine which caused my threesome to jump past 12 and get away from them. Rangers could have assisted but I did not see any of them on the back nine. Even with this, I would have to say that Lost Marsh is a Diamond in the Rough.
The clubhouse crew was fantastic. Stuck around for a few cocktails on the balcony and service was right on the money.
Final verdict - To quote Arnold, "I'll be back"

challenging course
Very challenging course. First five holes require accuracy off the tee. I had a hot deal so the value was great. Not sure I'd pay full price. Pace of play was horrendous.
Outstanding
We had an outstanding time. Weather was perfect. Course was in great shape. Got a good deal with GolfNow!!
Challenging
Great course that take a few times playing it to get a better feel of where to and where not to hit. For early November the course was in very good shape.
Old timers golf outing
course in great shape,
tricky front nine
Great course to play
If you want to experience a great golf game on a windy and cold day play at the lost marsh. Please bring bring plenty of balls . It will challenge your game .
Nice course , lots of water
Can't beat late October golf at a great course
Tough course not for the mediocre golfer unless they want to loose many balls
Very challenging course with many blind shots....tough course and some of the greens are hilly
Tough opening 5 holes
This review is based only on the first 5 holes because after it took 2 hours 15 minutes to play them i quit. There was a women's high school tourney that for some reason did not get to start at their shotgun start at it original time because the course allowed golfers out before so they all had to tee off on 1 so it through the entire tee sheet off. But based on what i did get to play the first 5 opening holes are challenging, the first 4 holes have water on both sides so be very accurate off the tee. Hole 2 is a uphill par 3 157yd hole but with the wind it played 180 so make sure you club up and hit it straight because its all water right and short! #3 is water all along the left side on this dogleg left hole. #4 is a par 5 that breaks into 3 separate fairways so a 3 wood 260 yd drive then a 150 layup to the next fairway is needed in order to get a decent green shot for your 3rd. #5 is a par 4 dogleg left with a tee shot over water, again a 260yd drive is needed so it leaves a decent short iron into a elevated 2 tiered green that slopes severely downhill from front back. The greens were in great shape and fast. I do look forward to getting back here and playing a full 18!
Nice course
Great conditions and design. The staff could be a little friendlier.
Great course, greater deal
Unbelievable hot deal 18 w/cart for $12. Regular green fees are a little steep but it is an excellent condition, well designed course and worth it. It rained /drizzled off & on during whole round but I expected some. Supposed to be paired w/ a threesome but the starter said I could head out alone if I wanted. Played as a single and played through several foursomes as i caught them, round only took 2:45 hrs
great course
The Course is great, the only problem is some of the tee boxes are too close to the greens of the hole before. Seems a little dangerous.
Nice course
Great layout with some interesting holes. Great restaurant/bar for afterwards
Great course with lots of challenges
I tee'd off at 9 am Sunday. The weather was perfect, the course was perfect. The greens are very receptive. They are a little slow for what I'm used to. I will definitely be back now that I understand where some of the blind shots need to land.
Tough course
Very tight, water darn near every shot, tree lined on middle holes but gorgeous. Great staff and great facility overall!
nice course
close to city. gets expensive on weekends with sky bridge tools.
Thanks for playing at Lost Marsh. Hope to see you back for more.
So glad you enjoyed playing at Lost Marsh and the scenery was delightful!
