#5 approach shot. Cool shot with the mountain in the background. Photo submitted by ryantjeerdsma on 09/24/2013
Great condition!
Great condition, greens challenging, improved and more forgiving then when it was Sanctuary. Good warmup facilities.
Great track in AZ
golfed with a friend from Pittsburgh. Got paired up with another twosome on hole number 9. Finished 4:20h for the round. Course was in excellent condition. Greens were very nice. If I had to guess, I'd say they were rolling at about a "10" on the stemp. (they were decently paced and rolled true).
Bunkers were so/so. Some of the green-side bunkers were not exactly "fluffy". Same goes for the fairway bunkers, but I prefer a not-so fluffy fairway shot so that worked for my game. However, I certainly wouldn't consider them as horrible either. Hence the so/so response.
Facility was awesome! Looks like they put a lot of work into it recently. Cool firepit and open aired facility. Definitely pretty cool
Note: no free range balls. Smallest bucket was 30 balls for $5. I didn't want to hit 30 balls before I started, but that's a minor issue in the grand scheme of the day.
Bad pace of play
Sign on cart touted four hour round. It took five hours and marshall didn't care and was quite rude. Complained to cart dude at end and he said no one likes that guy. So we wondered why he was kept on. Totally irritating
Player friendly
I like the improvements that were done a few years ago. I also frequently enjoy the practice facilities.
conditions
First time at the course. Paired with some nice folks. Lucky. .no wind perfect for golf. No GPS hard to find out yardage, some of the holes needed local knowledge. Green were thin but putted ok. Good track would play again but lots of other golf in the area.
Five hours Really?
Starter paired me up with two members earlier than my scheduled time. The tee times were scheduled just eight minutes apart and the course was starting to back up even before we hit our first tee shots. We waited literally for every shot ( tee and fairway). By the 3rd hole my playing partners were already planning their escape after 9. We saw a Marshall once and he seen lackadaisical say everything was on schedule. I would agree if they plan on five hour rounds. On ten I waited to join a twosome that was behind us. Still had to wait on every shot. They finally left after 14 because of slow pace. I joined a group in front of me for one hole. They on 16 there were 3 groups. After four hours and fifteen minutes with three holes to go I called it a day. At cart check in I told the young man that the slow play was terrible. He simply said "If you have a complaint, take it to the pro shop." After this caring attitude display, I did go to the pro shop where I was met by an equally indifferent man. His response was "we do the best we can."
Terrible pace of play, mediocre course conditions and a less than friendly staff. I won't return and will tell anyone I run into to stay away! There are some great courses, with a better staff where you can play in around four hours....not here.
Great course
I would definately play here again. Very friendly staff and the course was in great shape.
Good friday golf
Course was dry and hard on this day, likely due to unseasonably warm conditions. Some staff in the pro shop and food service must have been having a bad day. Back shop staff was excellent though.
First time to play here
A Strong 4 star course that has some nice holes. The fairways are wide, greens were very fast and course was in excellent condition.
Fun Course
Nice course that is in wonderful condition. Enjoyed the challenge but was not to difficult. Certainly would play again.
The course has great features
The green were not in very good conditions and septic system odor was terrible near the cart building and side patio.
golf pro rated
Nice spot. Greens need lots of golfers who will repair theirs and 4 more. Layout solid and tough enough from the copper tee's. Overall a good experience.
nice experience! not worth 100$ though! bang for the buck better courses available out there! would play again but not for what I paid! sorry!
Nice experience! But not worth 100$ though! Bang for the buck better courses are available! Sorry!
Good shape, Good value, Nice course
Played this course for the first time in Feb with some buddies. The course was in great shape all around, except for some greens that had a lot of ball marks on them. I think this is more related to the type of grass/underlay of the greens as even when you fixed your ball mark it still seemed to scar quite a bit - in most cases it was more of a visual thing and didn't affect the roll of the ball. We enjoyed this course - for most holes you could see what was in front of you off the tee and plan your shot accordingly - most of the greens were viewable from the fairway so you could tell the shape/depth of them on your approach shots. Pace of play was good without being rushed and we finished in just under 4 hours on an early morning weekday round. The course was fun to play and well designed while being moderately tough. Would definitely play again.
Excellent condition
Only got to play 9 holes due to illness, but very enjoyable course. Want to play again.
beautiful setting
course was in good shape. Restaurant is a great way to finish the day.
Range balls
Really, charge for range balls when you are playing and not practicing.
Favorite course
You can't beat this course on Scottsdale. Great staff, scenic views, and playable for a desert course.
Very nice course
No gps on carts and little to no yardage markings on the fairways. Very disappointing .
