Woodhaven Country Club

Woodhaven is a great layout but definitely needs some TLC. Greens have dead spots everywhere, fairways have more yellow than green and most of the bunkers are not playable. It’s terrible that ownership has allowed this course to fall apart. Hopefully someone who understands how to run a golf course will buy it and bring it back

Under new management, Woodhaven golf course is making some much needed improvements. The greens are better than I remember and the staff is very nice. The course is definitely making a change in the right direction. I hope they keep improving.

Course was challenging. Greens were a little spotty. Reminds me of Texas Hill country courses with changes in elevation.

This time when I played Woodhaven, the guys were actively working on the greenside sprinkler systems. This is a good thing as the greens are slowly coming back, but they are still too long and slow. In the meantime, I hope Woodhaven doesn't lose the tees and the fairways. It's tough coming back and it's been hotter than usual...even for Texas. Yet if this course is going to recover, now is the time.

Course is in awful shape!

In almost every green there were dead spots, just dirt no grass at all.

Fairways were super thin, looked like the place hasn’t see water in weeks.

No one at the turn house even though it was open so we couldn’t even buy a drink.

I a surprise it has country club in its name because it is not in the standards of what a country club should be, the whole place is simply run down and it looks like no one has taken care of anything in years

Challenging layout with a variety of shots involved. Greens were nice and ball rolled true. Nice 19th hole area with plenty of room and televisions all around. All the staff was very friendly. We are going back for sure to play again.

Tee boxes are good. Fairways are average and you can tell they are really trying to get their greens where they need to be. Overall Impresions and experience was positive. We finished 18 in right around 3 hrs both times during the week. If you can get out during the week this is a good track. Not sure about how busy the weekends are. $40 on a Saturday is the max I would pay for the current shape this course is in. Think Whitestone but older.

For a golf course that ends in the name Country Club I expected more of the looks of the course. I expected nicer Fairways and greens. For this type of course the price was about average after booking it on golf now. If I had to pay more than $32 with tax I would not waste my money.

This course is a rolling terrain in a club community with lots of trees. I've seen low scores here but they came with consistent shots to the middle of the fairways. Number 4 has to be one of the narrowest fairways in town, very intimidating. I think most of the holes favor a left handed playe but I could be wrong.

So the last time I played here was before the greens really had a chance to grow in as a result of some hot weather. The greens, although a little long and slower than what they should've been, are growing in nicely. Fairways are much improved although I managed to find a couple of bare spots. If this course can keep its maintenance personnel, they should be ok. I actually saw others on the course and activity going on within the clubhouse this time. Hoping that Woodhaven can continue to comeback.

Course is in good condition. The day I played the carts had ball & club cleaners that were filled & free range balls. It is in an older neighborhood and I have heard there have been several armed robberies of customers in the past. They do have a Security Patrol/Marshall on duty. I had no problem during my round.

had a great tie on this course today. Tee boxes, fairways, and greens all looked pretty good. I loved the elevation changes throughout the course. I liked the variation in some wide open fairways and some narrow. This course will test the beginner to the intermediate player. The staff told me there have been some changes in the groundskeeping dept. and the condition of the course will get even better. As you can see from the previous reviews the course may have been in some bad shape a few months back. I will be back to ply here sooner than later. thanks to all for a good time!

This course is in bad condition. The fairways are full of weeds, the traps lack sand, the greens are in bad shape, dry and patchy.

The positive for me, it's less than five minutes away from me.

This course use to be private, so if expecting pristine you will be disappointed. It is better than some municipals. Greens are on the rebound from the winter season. If your looking to practice the price is right, and not overcrowded.

It's obvious the course has been neglected. Range had no grass and the ground was cracked. Many of the greens had dead spots on them and the tee boxes had little grass. The used to be a nice course. Maybe a dozen cars in the parking lot at 12 noon. Maybe a half dozen at 3:30.

I am a member of a club near Woodhaven and never got over there. The club had a bad year last year and the greens were damaged. They are working hard to fix the greens and it only affected the play on two holes. I think its a neat old course with big hills and lots of blind shots. Because of the lack of traffic I played in three hours on a Saturday morning and I love that. The range is rough and in places its obvious they have struggled.

I had read all the negative reviews on Woodhaven from late last year and early this year, so I didn't expect too much. I will say that I was pleasantly surprised. The greens were better than I had heard. The tee boxes were ok; fairways were not up to Country Club standards but were better than what you would expect on a Muni. Spent some time talking to the maintenance guy who laid out Woodhaven's plans for recovery. Yeah, you can go to Grapevine, Tierra Verde, and Bridlewood and pay more to get a better course, but I'm not sure that you can get a better value for your money right now than Woodhaven while they are still trying to rebuild their membership base. Classic course with a classic layout that is attempting a comeback.

This as one of the worst golf experiences I have ever had. The course is in really bad condition and GolfNow did not have the courtesy to warn me. The staff advised me that there were a few bad greens but to be honest the entire course was barely playable.i regret having to write this bad review but thought people looking to play this course should be warned.
