About
The Club at Frisco Farms (formerly known as Plantation Golf Club) was created for the average golfer -- it's a user-friendly course where spectacular play is not required for a decent score. Playing only 6,400 yards from the tips and under 6,000 from the middle tees, the golf course isn't long, and it includes many par 4s that are nearly driveable. Erratic, careless play is punished, however, with out-of-bounds lining the fairways and water coming into play on a few holes. Those short par 4s in particular are all guarded by water. Two of The Club at Frisco Farms par-3 holes -- the 148-yard no. 7 and the 188-yard no. 17 -- each require players to carry water. Pace of play here is better than average because of the player-friendly layout.

Still not in bad shape
Water logged fairways. Patchy greens.
Lower the price or improve the course. Had the same comments when I played here 2 years ago and no change to the quality so I’d say it won’t happen ever.
Still Getting It Wrong
Years ago this was a go to course for me. Then I experienced a series of rounds with subpar conditions that finally culminated in a friend and I leaving at the turn the course was so bad. That was 2-3 years ago. I was desperate for a tee time near my house this day and against my better judgement booked here based on several recent reviews stating the course was in good to excellent condition. Well, its not! I won’t expand on the bad conditions. See my google review for this course from 10/15/22. It has over 3K views. Two years later I have the same complaints. One of two things needs to happen. Drop your price by $20-30 or step up your improvements yesterday. And the people playing here giving good to excellent course condition reviews need to wake up. As a golf community we need be real about what we see and experience. We pay good money for tee times and they need to be worth what we pay. The muddy fairways and greens swap out for burnt fairways and greens. This is sub 3 star course and should be priced as such.

Greens are in rough condition
1/2 the greens have very burnt areas. Really sad. The water a lot, so I don't know why. Areas around the green were very sloppy wet.

Short holes
Holes are short and require thought, it’s not a straight shot on every hole like a lot of Texas courses.

Slow Play
They allowed a group of 6 to play together. No water out on course nor a cart girl. Over all it was disappointing with slow play and no water.

Overbooked, overpriced and under-managed
First, this was +5hrs round on a relatively short course. Time is money, and time off- especially when with those we love and my guitar - is priceless. It’s been years since being here, and I was hoping it to be a better experience, especially with the price increase (~2x) with population increase. Seems only thing invested in is the house sluggishly worked on at this time. The course is about the same, sub par and ugly. Greens are “eh” for TX, but one (I think 17) had large hole in it, and I’m not talking about the hole to hit into. One of the holes even has a concrete creek you have to hit over. Basically, its value of experience and time is not worth the cost. Even Frisco Lakes at about $30+ is better value, especially w/ a free lunch. I’d even put Lake Park as a better value even though it’s not difficult at all. Lame Park is better maintained and managed, even with its overbooking. I would put props to the cart girl though. She had a good selection and got to see her on both 9’s. So, no issue at all w/ staff except keeper, marshal and those above. If you spend your time and money here, then I hope you have a better experience than I’ve had. I’ll be elsewhere even if it costs more or is further away. Ciao.

Only come if you want to waste 5 hours
Pace of play is a joke here. There’s no marshal to manage it. You spend more time waiting than you do golfing. Round took us (a twosome) 5 and a half hours. I will never come back.

Not great
Overall, was not in good condition. Massive mud flats all over the rough and sometimes the fairway. Greens were unable to roll straight due to being not well kept.
