About
The Lakes Course at Firewheel is a links-style course that is loaded with water, and was a Dick Phelps creation on his return to Garland in 1987. Hole 7 is the most difficult–a long 549-yard par 5 that requires an approach over a pond.
Getting there : From Dallas, take Hwy. 75 north and exit Arapaho. Turn right and when you come to N. Garland Ave., turn left. Drive to W. Blackburn Rd. and turn west. The course is just down the road.

great weather, course was tough as always but fair, can't wait to play again.
Great Value for the Price
The course layout is awesome and even in the winter it had great views. Course condition must be given some leniency, as it is winter, but bunkers could’ve been cleaner and more well kept and there were some questionable tee boxes, but all in all it wasn’t too shabby. Staff is friendly, for the limited interaction we had (no amenities cart on the course during our round). Would definitely recommend playing here any time of year. I’ll be back, for sure, during peak season to check it out.
Charming course
Definitely a fun course! Looks well-maintained and cared for. Lots of water. Greens looked good. Staff was friendly. It’s definitely worth a look. I will absolutely be back for another round.
Nice surprise!
Last minute booking, searched courses near me by ratings and this one came up. Did not disappoint… club house staff friendly, course pace of play was fantastic, greens were nice for winter golf. Only thing was bunkers were really bad, like rock hard. . But other than that, beautiful lay out and super difficult back 9. Front nine was easy, back nine were super challenging. Keep up the great work guys.
One of the toughest courses around
Good layout, good greens, insanely hard from the championship tees. Water on left and right most holes. Very challenging but fair

Must have had rain event earlier in week- Course still wet, even tee boxes and sand traps still muddy - traps mostly dirt. Greens fairly good- again wet conditions causing difficulty maintaining greens

Great Golf course in the Area that has great challenges. I would consider one the top 3 I have played.

One of my favorite golf courses in DFW and a really good value. The golf carts are getting old and need to be replaced.
