Tournament
Had a Tee time scheduled for 8:44 am. Get to the clubhouse to find out that they have a shotgun start at 9 am. And we were going to be right in the middle of it. Round would’ve taken 6 hours but we cancelled. Course is fine, but poor management. Not to mention the times I have played here you have to wait for people to finish just to get a cart. Your tee time is really just an estimate
Terrible pace
I’ve never left a round of golf in the middle of it until now. 12 holes in 4 hours and we decided to bail.
Surprised!!!!
Nice little course tucked away in Garland.... I was surprised by the condition of the greens were pretty nice shape and rolled true.... good for the price!!!!
Good course for the value
Played this course for the first time with my son. He wanted to play and I saw a good Golf Now twilight price on a Sunday afternoon. I usually play Riverside, Stevens Park, Sherrill Park and a couple of the courses in Grand Prairie. This course is not on par with any of them but it is better than expected. The course is tucked away in a cute neighborhood in Garland. I was pleasantly surprised. The greens are not in the best shape as there are some weeds growing on them that make putting a little unpredictable but it's not terrible at all. Overall I would play here again for the twilight price. I wouldn't pay the regular price for this course with the other options that are available.
Good experience
First time going to this course. Overall I had a good experience. The course was clean and the grass was well kept. I’m a beginner and found the holes to be fun. Some were challenging but doable. The martial out on the first hole was extremely friendly and gave us some great tips. Would definitely come back.
Great day of golf
Overall a good experience playing at Duck Creek. Would definitely play again course was in great shape. Really a great day of playing golf .
Improving
New owners are trying to play catch up and make a difference, improvements they have made are starting to show.
Course in better condition than earlier, with the recent rain. fairways still a little dry, greens are in good shape.
Only down fall is on the weekends, mostly during the morning hours, pace of play is slower than normal, partly because they book every 8 mins. Other than that, that is the biggest downfall.
Cant wait to see what the new owners are able to do.
Get what you pay for
Cart broke down but can’t blame them for not replacing them until they hit the junk yard. Cart paths are actually in solid shape. It was a little wet when I played but I bet it dried out over the weekend and the course is probably playing as good as it ever has. Fairways in great shape; greens were solid and sank one on 9; sand is playable. If you’re are looking for value this course is for you. Hit driver all day and played 150 in with pitching wedge. Overall I was satisfied.
Save your money
This place is an absolute dump... had a tee time for 2:50 and didn’t tee off til about 3:30. The pace of play was an absolute joke (3+ groups on every hole) and so many of the holes run parallel to each other so it was a total warzone out there with balls flying everywhere. Was supposed to play 18 but 9 took about 3 hours and we left after that. The greens were average at best. If you’ve ever played a decent round of golf before take your $25 and go spend it somewhere else.
friendly staff, terrible condition
The staff was super friendly and pace of play was great. I had the 2nd tee time of the morning (7:08 am) and the group in front let me play through on the first hole. The course however is in terrible shape. Crab grass is all over the greens (although it is cut low enough not to affect putts), tee boxes are covered in dirt and old broken tees, and fairways can be "spotty." I felt $42 was too steep for a course in these conditions. Its obvious the course is struggling.
Joyful course layout
The layout of the course is joyful and I will recommend this course to my friends
Interesting Course
Got off to a bad start. Booked via golf now and it said $30 due at course. The guy in the pro shop charged $32.48 (no big deal) but when I ask led why he was very rude in his response and short with me. When I asked if I was paired with anyone I got the same short sharp response tone directing me to the first tee
After this the day got much better. The 4 ball in Front let me through after a couple of holes and were very polite. The maintenance crews were out in force but always moved off the tees/greens to allow me to play. They were also super friendly
I played in just over 3 hours. The course is fairly interesting layout utilizing the creeks and water well. Not all the par 4s need driver which also made you think about positional play. The majority of the greens were in good condition, a coupe had some crab grass on them. The tees were rock hard. The fairways were ok. Overall an enjoyable mornings golf
