Squaw Valley Golf Course - Apache Links Course

About
The original Squaw Valley course, Apache Links, opened in 1992–a Jeff Brauer design that is open on the front and more densely wooded on the back. Brauer’s work involved bringing in dirt to provide some mounding to the flat terrain, and he placed the course along a scenic creek that comes into play, mostly on the back.
No. 9 is the best hole on the front because of its split fairway. Macho men can go for the green by aiming over the lake–otherwise it plays a pedestrian 362 yards if you choose the left side, where it doglegs around the lake.
On the back, Nos. 15 and 16 are back-to-back par 4s that you’ll be glad to get out of the way. The 15th rolls 462 yards and doglegs right, requiring a tee shot over the creek. The long approach is especially challenging due to the long row of trees at the corner of the green. Hole 16 features an elevated green above Squaw Creek. Play for position off the tee because the hole is not long.

Greens are in BAD shape
I’m a big fan of this course typically. But to continue to charge normal prices when the greens are almost unputtable is just not ok. I won’t be back for awhile at that price.
Good fairways very bad greens
Like the course, however, the greens are the worse I have ever seen but everywhere else is in good condition. I would play again if and when the greens are good again.
The Greens were terrible!
I will try this course again… in about 2 months. The greens were aerated and sandy, which I was not aware of ahead of time. Probably a 4+ stroke cost to your round. Otherwise a fair course. Hit one more club than you think on the approach at 16. This course should have been at most half price, especially on Father’s Day weekend. The staff was nice.
needs work
Tees and fairways were pretty good. GREENS were terrible. They had just been punched...not a big deal, but the top sanding was poor. There are also many bare and bad spots on pretty much every green. I will give it a month to heal, then try again. HOPE it is better.
Garbage
Worst greens I’ve ever played on and that’s saying a lot.
Not what she was!
Greens are in the worst shade I have seen them in several years. Fairways had dead grass piled up everywhere as a result of letting the grass get too tall before cutting it.
Guys in pro shop could use a lesson in friendliness. Whey someone speaks to you it is always, especially when you're return business depends on your customers like a golf course, courteous to respond.
Greens are very bad.
Greens are awful. Not sure when they can be playable but if you like plinko you will like the greens on the Links course.
Nice layout
I have played this course many times. I really like the layout, but the greens are terrible right now
Rip Off
45 bucks to play on a Monday after 2pm with terrible greens? What a joke! This place has gone down hill fast.
Squaw Valley Links
Green are the worst I’ve ever seen. Poanna grass on greens made an otherwise great day, disappointing
