Oak Creek Golf Club

With the Tee Time Digital Golf Pass, it was $29 to play on a Tuesday. Great deal! The course was in beautiful shape with lush fairways and excellent greens, which were very, very fast! They were cutting the fairways--which looked like they hadn't been cut for a while due to rainy weather--and they hadn't gotten to blowing away all the grass clippings. We played amongst some of that, but it was okay. Some of the bunkers were eroded from rains and/or holding water, but still others were fine. I took some friends with me who had never played the course before and they enjoyed it, especially all the bridges on the course (its namesake, of course)! The Bridges is always a good course to play with a great mix of hard/easy holes and a chance to hit fairways and score. This is one of my favorite courses in PA.

I haven't played Oak Creek since before the pandemic, and decided to give it another try. I was surprised about the course conditions...overall they were great, especially in such hot weather. The fairways were thick and lush, with no thinning or dirt spots that I saw. The bunkers, for the most part, had nice sand. And, the greens--as usual--were fast. There were only three holes that were cart path only due to the prior day's rain, so that was a good thing (other than #10, which is really hard to walk). I know this course gets a lot of play, but they have managed to keep it in good shape through the excessive play, rainy weather, and hot temperatures.

Course is in good condition but the pace of play killed any enjoyment this course had to offer. Tee off time was 11:20. We got off a few minutes early around 11:10. We made the turn in 2 1/2 hours and then it got even worse. Waited about 12 minutes to tee off on 10. Each subsequent shot was about a 10 minute wait. There are 3 par 3’s on the back nine so that wasn’t going to help. We finished hole 14 at 4 hours and decided to call it a day. As we were heading back to the clubhouse every hole in front of us had a traffic jam.

In short this is a well kept course with a nice layout. I would recommend playing it if you have 6 hours to spare for a round. You would also have to have some great mental focus since the time between shots is a lot.

It’s sad because this course is typically in really good shape but every time I’ve played it’s been super slow which is why I don’t come often at all. No Marshall. People have no etiquette or regard for pace of their play, which can’t be helped by course but if a Marshall was pushing people along I think more people would come play. This has been the same old story for past few years so oh well. 5:15 hour round today.

Two sons-in-law and grandson with me. First time at the course, excellent experience. The course and green were soft from recent rains - be better if more people fixed their ball marks. Fairways and tee boxes excellent, greens very good.

Very scenic layout, very interesting course design. We had a wonderful time. Definitely come back again.

Great course. Plays longer than you think and keep it in the fairway. Food in club house is absolutely the best!

Would be a 5 if greens weren't aerated. Great layout, fast carts, be prepared to lose a lot of balls. Fairways are wide, but not much rough between the trees. Fairways in great condition. Looking forward to playing again.

Not much room for stray shots. Fairway, one cut of rough and then lost ball. Greens varied one hole to the next, some aerated, some not, folks don’t repair ball marks. For the money I probably wouldn’t play again.

It’s the 2nd time I lost of range finders and cooler on the cart, and they never returned them to me. Their crew appears dishonest. They don’t return lost items. That’s unfortunate.

It seems like this course is either packed driving a 6 hour round or you feel like you are at a private course. Never seems to be in between. This round was the latter. Awesome layout. Challenging track and a fun design.

Fairways are in great condition. Greens are littered with ball marks and not nearly the same condition. So much potential with maintenance and upkeep. And people who play fixing their marks. Almost, and right there if they want to make it very good.
