Oak Creek Golf Club

I typically play Oak Creek several times a year, but this year this wound up being my first time. I was pleasantly surprised at the great course conditions. The fairways were in great shape, as were the bunkers, tee boxes, and greens. The greens weren't as fast as I remembered, but they have a lot of undulations and the pins were in tough spots...made for an interesting putting day! The only negative is that the course was a little wet and "spongy" in places, so you had to watch where you walked, but they still let us drive on the most of the fairways. The staff is always extremely nice and accommodating, and they put us out a tee time earlier because people were late arriving for their tee time. (Good thing, because we never saw the group behind us after the first hole.) The Oak Creek layout is a tad challenging...on the surface it looks like wide fairways and big greens...however, if you are the slightest bit errant, you're going to be in trouble in either the woods, out of bounds, or penalty areas. And, there are a lot of "bad bounces" on the hole edges. Hit the fairway should be your mantra for the day.

Fairways are wide enough, rough is just deep enough to make it hard to see the ball. Significantly challenging from greens, blues or tips. Multi-tiered greens with some treacherous pin placements.

Very enjoyable experience. Good value.

Oak Creek continues to be a solid golf course - fun layout (love that the back 9 has 3 Par 3’s/3 Par 4’s/3 Par 5’s, though the first two par 5’s always get me!), excellent conditions, and smooth greens. The course was wetter than I expected, as some holes don’t drain very well (especially 10). But the greens were in fantastic shape - soft and receptive, but rolled true. There were bunches of unrepaired ball marks at 8:10 in the morning, but that’s on the players, not the course. Hands down it’s the best course of the ones near it (Lake Presidential, Renditions, Enterprise) and one of the best in the greater Washington area. Can be a bit overpriced, but we’ll worth it if you get a deal, and even on occasion if you pay full price. I’m looking forward to my next round there.

Need to have a staff person help with clubs at drop off to place on carts instead of making people carry clubs a long way from the parking lot.

Should get a teenager to make tips and clean clubs at the 18th hole. This would impress a lot of customers.

No beverage or snack cart.

Oak Creek is one of my favorite courses in the DMV. It is challenging for sure, but not so much that even newer players cannot enjoy it. Greens run true. Fairways in great shape. Excellent combination of holes. Highly recommend this course.

I’ve played a couple courses the last week. Oak Creek is in good shape, the greens were in pretty good shape. Overall, the course is in good shape.

The greens have healed up very nicely since the aeration several weeks ago and were very good condition. the fairways and tee boxes were also in great shape. The course was wet from the rain overnight which meant cart path only which always sucks but a little extra walking is good for you I suppose. Next to Lake Presedential it is my 2nd favorite public course in the area.

The golf course is in excellent shape,, the fairway and greed are in great shape for this time of year.

Course is an excellent layout and in very good condition. They had raked and over seeded fairways, but that was okay, glad to see the maintenance being done. Greens are sculpted in many places, so putting was an enjoyable challenge. Loved the course, the cart lady was super nice as was the cart attendant and the pro shop attendant.

I will play again for sure

nice course, but the home construction going on at the time we played was quite loud and somewhat of a nuisance., for at least for 3 holes.
