Great Value
Nice setup. The course is in good condition overall and is inexpensive. My group really enjoyed the round. It would be better to have a beverage cart roaming the course. The course is good for high handicappers like me. Can be played short or long with five tee positions on every hole. We will be back. One or two holes felt crammed into the design, but overall I like it.
Lake Side
27 holes in 3 9s. They are very patriotic with the 3 9 hole courses labeled as red, white, and blue. I played Red and white. Red was tougher with water hazards in 7 of the first 9 holes. Although White does have 2 very watery holes back to back in 14 and 15. The range was closed but the putting a chipping practice area was nice. The greens were pretty good but not excellent. Pace of play was a bit slow but it was an 11am round on a beautiful but a bit warm Saturday so that’s expected. Our 4 some finished in 4 hours and 25 minutes. In the rough and tree areas the grass was kept very short which helped with finding the wayward shots. So that will help you unless you find one of the many water hazards. It was my first visit but a bit far from my home so it will be a while before I get back. If it were closer I’d definitely play more often.
Average review
Slow play, greens not great, tee boxes not level, poor yardage marks w/o cart gps, but the worst was it was very hot and we didn’t see the refreshment cart till the 17th and it didn’t have a good selection of snacks.
Check out Prairie Lakes Golf Course
Played Prairie Lakes yesterday. This was my second time to play the course. I really like the course. It is comprised of three nine hole courses. When you play 18 holes, you are assigned to two of the three courses (Red, White, and Blue). When you check in they tell you what you are playing (i.e., you're playing Blue to White). Course is in good shape, except for the greens. Green are mediocre.
Prairie Lakes
Prairie lakes has 3 9 hole courses. You get to play 2 of the 3. Me and a friend had a really good time playing this course. The weather was not too hot yet, but it was fairly breezy, at times potentially affecting a shot.
This is a very enjoyable course to play-not too difficult, but not too easy (at least for me). I would recommend it to anyone in the DFW area. It's good value for the money, especially on a hot deal. The condition usually shows up as a 4+ star condition.
