About
Tangle Ridge Golf Club's location near Joe Pool Lake is favorable because of the elevation changes that spice up this well maintained public course. The course offers some outstanding holes, highlighted by impressive bentgrass greens that putt true. In addition to the elevation changes, Jeff Brauer's design features generous fairways lined by thick brush and huge trees. Two holes grab your attention on the front side. The opener goes 469 yards and might be the most difficult on the golf course. While there aren't too many hazards, bunkers protect the fairway and green, and the thick rough lining the fairway makes it a difficult long approach if you miss the smooth stuff off the tee. Tangle Ridge Golf Club's eighth hole is considered the signature: a 575-yarder that rolls downhill off the tee to a creek that cuts the fairway at 300 yards out. The approach on no. 8 must carry the creek to an elevated green protected by two massive mounds.

Got early and didn’t have to wait until 15. Great pace.

Very fun but felt rushed
We tee offed at 2:10 pm 11/22/23 it was a nice day for golf was smashing fairways all day there is one hole early on with multiple sand traps and was super fun to hit into. Not many water hazards but the ones out there are placed perfectly to eat drives. The hole is in the picture. I played 15 wish I could have stayed longer because the sun stayed up for 45 more minutes after the cut off. Probably my best game played yet.

GREAT ROUND
I TOOK MY 16 YR OLD SON HERE FOR HIS BDAY ROUND WITH MY SONS FRIEND AND DAD. HAD A GREAT TIME, NICE COURSE, FRIENDLY STAFF, WAS A GREAT TIME I'LL PLAY HERE AGAIN. WERE FROM ROCKWALL SO IT'S OUT OF OUR WAY BUT WORTH IT.

Solid
Solid conditions for November. Greens rolling pretty good, fairways still in good condition. Just a little bumpy on some fairways, cart got launched a few times

Tee, fairways were fine. A few greens had some damage. The sand traps are poor , just like hitting off bare ground as it was packed sand

Great layout
Fall golf with brown grass everywhere except the greens. After a rough summer the course is in pretty good shape. Fairways are super bumpy like they never rolled them just grew grass over whatever the topography offered. Sand traps were very well maintained. Sunday 4 1/2 hour round. Cart lady came around several times. Decent course.

Sprayed paint on greens.
Personally, it (sprayed paint with Dark Green color on greens) bothered me of reading putting lines and felt accelerating ball speed. Good with colored greens: you can easily find where the greens are. Nice staffs and great pace of round. Recommend.

The restaurant staff at the clubhouse are very friendly.
Only the restaurant staff are friendly, and the staff checking in is very rude. It is especially unfriendly to Asians. I would give Course Fairway about 70 points out of 100. Perhaps because there is no Marshall, there are too many bad manners players.
