About
Tangle Ridge Golf Club's location near Joe Pool Lake is favorable because of the elevation changes that spice up this well maintained public course. The course offers some outstanding holes, highlighted by impressive bentgrass greens that putt true. In addition to the elevation changes, Jeff Brauer's design features generous fairways lined by thick brush and huge trees. Two holes grab your attention on the front side. The opener goes 469 yards and might be the most difficult on the golf course. While there aren't too many hazards, bunkers protect the fairway and green, and the thick rough lining the fairway makes it a difficult long approach if you miss the smooth stuff off the tee. Tangle Ridge Golf Club's eighth hole is considered the signature: a 575-yarder that rolls downhill off the tee to a creek that cuts the fairway at 300 yards out. The approach on no. 8 must carry the creek to an elevated green protected by two massive mounds.

Course in very good condition
The course was in very good condition for this time of year. Greens were rolling fast and true. Hill country golf just outside the metroplex. I would recommend this course to e.
Overall good condition
Great $29 hot deal on a Friday.
Clubhouse Staff friendly and the beverage cart gal came around 3-4 times.
The bunkers need work. Some had weeds growing in them!
Can’t recall the name of the weed, but it’s invading most of the greens causing ball to jump or change direction.
Would be 5 star if not for condition of greens and bunkers.
Tangle Ridge GC
The is about 40 miles from where we live, but it is worth the drive. This course normally is on Golf Now for $35 + fees & taxes. Yesterday it was posted at $23 +" ".
We got paired up with 2 other guys, which was fine since 1 of them was at the same level as us. The other guy was an excellent golfer. he was very long off the tee.
The day was enjoyable. The weather was in the low 60's. The course is fairly difficult. Greens were fast with a lot of downhill putts, or slow if you were putting uphill. This led to some 3 putts which is discouraging, and took some getting used to.
I would definitely play it again if it comes up at the price we paid yesterday, and i would heartedly recommend it!
Fun course
Fun course. Challenging holes. Pace of play was slow as had 2 fivesomes in front of us. Only could do 12 holes as a 5 hour round is too long.

Great drainage
Fun course and layout. Stormed night before until early AM. Course drained pretty good for amount of rain. Overall a nice course to play.

I arrange for our church group to play each week and we absolutely skip this course due to the rudeness of the staff and players if we get a little slow. This is the most unfriendly and rude place to play we have ever experienced! We avoid this course because our group hates to be disrespected and treated like we don't belong.

Pace of play was a joke, three groups waiting from the third hole onwards,, came off after nine holes

Very fun but felt rushed
We tee offed at 2:10 pm 11/22/23 it was a nice day for golf was smashing fairways all day there is one hole early on with multiple sand traps and was super fun to hit into. Not many water hazards but the ones out there are placed perfectly to eat drives. The hole is in the picture. I played 15 wish I could have stayed longer because the sun stayed up for 45 more minutes after the cut off. Probably my best game played yet.
