About
Tangle Ridge Golf Club's location near Joe Pool Lake is favorable because of the elevation changes that spice up this well maintained public course. The course offers some outstanding holes, highlighted by impressive bentgrass greens that putt true. In addition to the elevation changes, Jeff Brauer's design features generous fairways lined by thick brush and huge trees. Two holes grab your attention on the front side. The opener goes 469 yards and might be the most difficult on the golf course. While there aren't too many hazards, bunkers protect the fairway and green, and the thick rough lining the fairway makes it a difficult long approach if you miss the smooth stuff off the tee. Tangle Ridge Golf Club's eighth hole is considered the signature: a 575-yarder that rolls downhill off the tee to a creek that cuts the fairway at 300 yards out. The approach on no. 8 must carry the creek to an elevated green protected by two massive mounds.

SLOW PACE OF PLAY!!!
First, nice course for the green fee. Second, pace of play was ridiculous. Saturday morning 8:30am tee time sounds ideal, right? Wrong!!!! Stuck behind 4+ groups of 5-somes.
I was told by both rangers that the “Pro” allows it because he plays with those guys. Ridiculous! As a “Pro” he knows the number one complaint from golfers is…..yep, pace of play!!
This was a 5hr20min round. At certain points of the course there were 3 groups waiting.
If you play here, do it during the week when the “good old boy” 5-some network isn’t playing.

As Good As It Gets
Course currently in the best shape I have seen it. Fairways, bunkers and greens in tournament condition. Caution though, aerification coming up early August. Lovely course....worth the drive.

Good course but too expensive now
Since you no longer have punch cards we quit playing here. We like the course but other courses are as good and less money. Please bring back punch cards and we will play. $40.00 a round which is reasonable.⛳👍
Rates Doubled!!
We played all the time at Tangle Ridge until they decided without notice to raise their green fees by 50-75%. ... This is not a $75 course on weekends.

Gorgeous scenery
My round was solo at 7:20am, though I had a partner set up to play with, he found a group he knew and played with them instead. I was behind 2 separate groups of 4 with another group of 4 behind me, so my play was slow just waiting. But I really enjoyed it. Absolutely would play again, maybe earlier though.

First time but not last
First time playing this course, but will be back. Fortunate to play with two locals who were great fun and played ready golf just as we are all supposed to nowadays.
Made for a speedy first 12 holes, before we caught up with a society of completion group that tees off 10.
Course with some very interesting holes and in very good condition.

Tangle Ridge golf course discounts the price for July, Weekday $35, Weekend $45, 1PM to 5PM. It is lower than GN price I paid. This is my first time of rating 5 stars on this course. Great condition it is now.

Love this course
Second time playing this course. It has well kept fairways, and greens. The course has several elevation changes which is a nice change of pace from most of the flat courses around. Staff is friendly and I have no complaints. Great course to play at.
