About
Tangle Ridge Golf Club's location near Joe Pool Lake is favorable because of the elevation changes that spice up this well maintained public course. The course offers some outstanding holes, highlighted by impressive bentgrass greens that putt true. In addition to the elevation changes, Jeff Brauer's design features generous fairways lined by thick brush and huge trees. Two holes grab your attention on the front side. The opener goes 469 yards and might be the most difficult on the golf course. While there aren't too many hazards, bunkers protect the fairway and green, and the thick rough lining the fairway makes it a difficult long approach if you miss the smooth stuff off the tee. Tangle Ridge Golf Club's eighth hole is considered the signature: a 575-yarder that rolls downhill off the tee to a creek that cuts the fairway at 300 yards out. The approach on no. 8 must carry the creek to an elevated green protected by two massive mounds.

Nice course!
I love the layout of the course, and the way it has a mix of precision and wide open holes. Lots of elevation change for a DFW course, and some false fronts that make you have to think about approach shots. Well placed bunkers and greens that favor shot shaping. Fairways could be smoother, but good overall condition, and not overly challenging, but enough to be appreciated.

Slow golf!
Gave up while playing as the pace was so slow. Skipped holes. No marshal. Not worth 5+ hours!

Value Course
GPS golf carts, decent course conditions, par 3 greens a bit pitted, lots of undulating features

We had a t time of 2:00pm but had to wait until 2:15, we were about to hit our second shots from the fairway on the 18 th hole when we were approached by the marshal and were told it we had to leave the course as it was 5:30, it would have taken 5 minutes to finish the hole but we were not allowed
