About
Tangle Ridge Golf Club's location near Joe Pool Lake is favorable because of the elevation changes that spice up this well maintained public course. The course offers some outstanding holes, highlighted by impressive bentgrass greens that putt true. In addition to the elevation changes, Jeff Brauer's design features generous fairways lined by thick brush and huge trees. Two holes grab your attention on the front side. The opener goes 469 yards and might be the most difficult on the golf course. While there aren't too many hazards, bunkers protect the fairway and green, and the thick rough lining the fairway makes it a difficult long approach if you miss the smooth stuff off the tee. Tangle Ridge Golf Club's eighth hole is considered the signature: a 575-yarder that rolls downhill off the tee to a creek that cuts the fairway at 300 yards out. The approach on no. 8 must carry the creek to an elevated green protected by two massive mounds.

It’s over
They have given up on the course. Only watering the greens and thery are still bumpy from the aeration that took place 2 months ago. It will take a year for the course to recover if it can.

Pushy memeber
Played with a member who was pushing the pace...Our. group wasn't slow but he expected to to get to the tee and the players in front would be gone...although that would be ideal we're just out here to have some fun and play the game we love...the last hole the member played he hit it right at the group in front while they were still on the fairway!!!

Something amiss...
I absolutely love this course, one of the best in the metroplex. But, it looks like a dessert. I've never seen it so dry. Not sure if there is an irrigation issue or what. If they don't get hold of this soon, there won't be any grass left.

Great layout
Course has a great layout. Very few holes side by side. Tee boxes are in good shape. Greens are improving. A few blind and challenging 2nd shots. Water on course and consistent beverage cart. Have also avoided traffic from downtown on weekends.
