Tangle Ridge Golf Club's location near Joe Pool Lake is favorable because of the elevation changes that spice up this well maintained public course. The course offers some outstanding holes, highlighted by impressive bentgrass greens that putt true. In addition to the elevation changes, Jeff Brauer's design features generous fairways lined by thick brush and huge trees. Two holes grab your attention on the front side. The opener goes 469 yards and might be the most difficult on the golf course. While there aren't too many hazards, bunkers protect the fairway and green, and the thick rough lining the fairway makes it a difficult long approach if you miss the smooth stuff off the tee. Tangle Ridge Golf Club's eighth hole is considered the signature: a 575-yarder that rolls downhill off the tee to a creek that cuts the fairway at 300 yards out. The approach on no. 8 must carry the creek to an elevated green protected by two massive mounds.

Perfect days for play
Kindness and enjoyable club house and staffs.
Slow rolls on fewer greens.
Otherwise perfectly maintained fairway and enjoyable round with wife,
Will be back to play soon...
Slow players
This course has been my favorite but recently I felt that many slow players didn't care about others in this course, neither of staffs. I will not return this course again.
Great course. Challenging green
This course is wide open. Great elevation changes. Greens are hard but great.
Fun course, nice staff, and good shape.
This course is typically in good shape, greens were very fast and somewhat bumpy. Fairways in good shape, rough was inconsistent in spots, and dirt patches around cart paths. Course should rope of damaged areas so grass can grow. Nice course for the cost, but a higher price point (just recently raised weekend rate) would eliminate it from our group of courses.
It would be nice to know before you pay your twilight fees that golf carts have to be in before sunset. But clubhouse staff very willing to sell us range balls and say we had time to finish our round . Tee time 430. (Would have been a sub 3 hour round). You get the notice after you hit the first and 10 tee. Get told while you are coming down 18th fairway you have to come in. But no one was monitoring singles jumping around and playing holes all over the course slowing play . Just told by one of the staff that is just golf you paid the twilight fee . Even getting asked by the staff if I wanted to do something about it . Not my first time playing here but probably won’t be back for awhile. Maybe then the greens will be in better shape.
Solid course
Tangle ridge is a solid course with a good practice facility. Fun course layout in good condition. This is one of my favorite courses south of the metroplex.

This time of year is rough on Texas golf courses. Tangle Ridge has kept the course very playable and ready for the late summer rains to bring it back to fantastic conditions. Hats off the the grounds crews.
Excellent course but greens a little inconsistent
Love this course, the staff and the amenities. Always in great condition and perfect layout. The greens were close but not yet perfect. A little long and slower then normal in spots and then they very quick in other spots with down hill and down grain. So just a bit inconsistent.
