Fun
I always enjoy playing. The scenery is just nice
very nice course to play
great course with 3 nines, only problem was they had just fertilised the greens and they were a little bumpy. A very nice course to play
Stuck behind a five some
Course was in decent shape. Pace of play was ridiculous
Not bad for a cheap round of golf
The course was in worse shape than I remember it when I previously played it a few years ago. It does have holes that present challenges, but overall, the course is fairly easy for the average amateur. There's a decent amount of water but virtually zero sand.
The greens were in very poor shape. I would not recommend this course to anybody except for the casual golfer who just wants to get 18 holes in.
Still a Challenging Layout
I have been away from the DFW are for over 20 years. I used to play this course a lot in the 80's and 90's, I was excited to get a chance to play here again. The layout is pretty much what I remembered. On the surface Prairie Lakes doesn't' intimidate. There are, however, a lot of subtleties that make this course pretty challenging. Accuracy off the tee is a must. Almost every par three is over water, and the greens play a lot quicker than they look. A lot of undulation as well. I found the front desk staff to be adequate. I saw a lot of Marshall's around the clubhouse, but never saw one on the course. The Edelman restaurant workers, specifically the female staff, were atrocious. Service was poor, and the female staff acted like they were doing me a favor just waiting on me. The food was good, but over-priced.
Would I play Prairie Lakes again? Yes, but it will be awhile. There are a lot of other golf courses in the area that are more deserving of regular play.
27 holes to play nice layout
Saturday was a beautiful day to play golf everyone wanted to play was not enough carts for all the players our foursome was
About the last group to get out on our tee time due to the cart situation. Play was not too slow for amount of people playing.
Hard to evaluate greens should be great a little later in the spring pen placement was difficult on several holes
We had a great time even with the number of players
Thanks
Good Round!
The course offered a great challenge to my overall game. I enjoyed each hole unique design and lay out. The par threes were long and challenging as well.
Good course
Playing the blues and white course are very good to put the ball in play. Trees on both sides of course....water on some holes makes it very challenging.
No one toe blame but Me.
I like this course a lot. It is always in at least average condition. This time, the fairways and the tee boxes were hard as rocks. Many tight lies, even in the middle of the fairway. The greens were next to perfect! This is a tricky course on any of the 9's.
We played the blue and the red. Lots of trees. I mean, lots of trees, and some tricky water. Where you land your tee-shot is very important on this course. If you do that and hit a decent approach, all three of these 9's are fun to play. The rough is not intolerable. As usual, I beat myself with good drive, poor approaches and less than preferred putting. You will like these tracks and be back. By the way, the BBQ was really good.
Prairie Lakes golf coarse
Great coarse, in moderate shape, greens really fast and brown.
Challenging course!
The course is in fair condition for being winter time. The fairways still have some grass on them and the greens still roll true. It's a challenging course and I like challenges.
The course to play
A little cold today, but course in good shape, enjoyed the round.
Best place to play
The course is in great condition, pace of play is awesome. I have always enjoyed playing here
Playing on 1st day of winter
Great day matched up with to other men they were from area so helped me get through triangle. Greens were in good condition true roll.
Great recovery after big rain
Always a friendly staff & great BBQ. The course is a great challenge for all levels. While many local courses remained closed Prairie Lakes was playable with cart path only. Great course that can always be played under 4 hrs.
nice three course layout
Got to tee off early..due to impending weather. Rained a little while i played the blue course for nine..got sandwiched with a foursome of slow players in front and a three some behind me. Thatwas two hours. Was able to avoid them as i was by myself..and turned down the white course for my final 9 holes....finished that . In a hour..
Decent
Not bad for muni. Friendly people and nice layout. Condition is pretty good for such a busy course. Will certainly play again.
Off day
What can I say? Don't ever go and play on a day that it's cart path only. I'm a disabled vet, but that doesn't seem to matter there. Also, on a cart path only day, they were letting fivesomes play. After five holes and waiting forever on the fivesome in front of me, I asked them if I could play through. They said it wouldn't do any good as there was a foursome and a fivesome in front of them. I bailed an decided to go play the back nine instead. What do I find? A foursome teeing off with a fivesome on the green of that hole. What's going on? There were only about 18 cars in the parking lot. Bad marshaling, actually none, and bad management. I gave up, ate the green fee and just went home.
lots of fun!
This is a nice golf course - straightforward, interesting, varied design, and a challenging track. You could play each hole with a different strategy, so your shot selection was varied which kept things interesting. Good greens/fairways and the holes along the lake on the white 9 were fun. Look, for $10 on Golfnow, this was a steal!
