Kingarrock Golf Course dates back to the 1920s but in the 1930s the parkland layout was plowed during the war. More than 70 years later, the course was revamped and reopened for play in 2002 after decades in use as a grazing pasture and for growing crops. The original layout was carefully researched in order to recreate the traditional design in the new golf course, which resulted in a wholly unique experience that players won’t soon forget. Golfers are provided with original hickory clubs, the exact same ones that were used in the '20s, complete with an old canvas and leather bag for toting as well as balls and tees. While Kingarrock sits only minutes from the famed birthplace of golf, St. Andrews, it provides a more authentic glimpse at how the game was played over a century ago.

Outstanding history and a unique golf experience

Kingarrock takes pride in being the only hickory club in the UK. They offer a 1920s experience for today's golfer. It is only a 9 hole track, but the unique experience is of a one-of-a-kind quality on a beautiful and historic property in Fife.

A wonderful experience , a must for any golfer.

A fabulous little 9 hole course, relive golf as it was played over a century ago, authentic clubs and balls are provided with a very warm welcome from the pro who makes you feel quite at ease before letting you loose with the Hickory clubs.A very pleasant and picturesque
course in a beautiful location a little undulating but that only adds to its charm. A great day out for any standard of golfer. PS ginger beer and Scottish shortbread provided after your round.

Don't miss this

I usually don't get too excited about 9-hole courses, but this one is special. You play with hickory-shafted clubs and hit balls designed more than a hundred years ago.
If you want to fully appreciate today's technology play a round at nearby Kingsbarn or St. Andrews and the play like they did in the 1800's. It's a great way to unwind after a long day of golf.
You also use "Reddy Tees". They're the patented short red tees that replaced the sand tees in the 1920's.
Play this course and will probably be your most lasting golf memory of Scotland.
