St. Michaels Golf Club

About
St. Michael's Golf Club sits atop Gallow Hill, providing spectacular views past the River Eden to the historic buildings of St. Andrews. The course sprawls across a prehistoric settlement that is protected by Historic Scotland. The terrain is an interesting mix of wooded parkland and undulating heathland with a well-draining sandy base. The golf course features small greens and narrow fairways that place a premium on accuracy. While it may not have the prestige or the classic links layout of St. Andrews, St. Michael's Golf Club offers just as formidable a test. The challenges begin immediately on the first hole, an uphill par 4 with a fairway that slopes right to left. St. Michael's signature hole is the par-3 15th, which many consider to be the most demanding short hole in Fife. There is a large dip to the left and rear of the green, a bunker to the front right, and out-of-bounds to the left and on the railway line behind.

Amazing value
Really interesting course especially the par 3s. Will make it a regular from now on. Could easily have paid 2/3 times more and I would still think it was worth it.
Another good round
This course is our 'home' when staying in Fife. Suits all levels of ability in our family and is reasonably priced considering cost of other courses in the area. Will definitely be back again soon.
Another good round
This is our 'local' when staying in Fife. Played it several times. We have a range of golfers in our family from 13 to a beginner and it suits us all. Greens were a little bare but not surprising for the time of year.
Hilly enjoyable course
The general condition of the course was average
We played off mats on the tees. The fairways were patchy & the greens had just been hollow tynned & top dressed which did not give a true reflection of their condition
Pace of play was excellent. As a 2 ball we were round in 2 hours 45 minutes.
Made very welcome in the clubhouse after the round.
I am sure that in another couple of months the condition of the course will improve.
Great value for money.
Hole 15.
Enjoy this course a lot as challenging as well as value for money.mat's on the tee only and not to long a course.would recommend this as a place for every golfer to try there skills.
St Michael’s Golf Course
St Michael’s is a great course that offers a balance of some tricky Pin positions with a course set up so you can score well, as long as you hit the fairways , drive straight and perform well with the short game. The course is on winter yardages, which gives the golfer that favours the de chambeau style, the chance to drive many of the greens! The par 3 15th is a site to behold and is still one of my favourite Par 3’s I have played. The value for money is excellent and you are always welcomed by the friendly staff in the club house.
When we played the back nine greens (some) were frozen making them virtually unplayable. Totally understandable given the time of year and hard frost the night before. Unfortunate for us but I would still return later in the year.
Great course
Great course in good condition for the time of year. Only bad point would be the majority of pin positions on the front 9 were poor. On on close to slope but other than that it was a fantastic day
Hidden gem
Really good course, great variety of holes with greens in near perfect condition.
Excellent staff
As usual excellent service and course in excellent condition the best we've seen it in years lookin forward to the next time especially the breakfast
Course is well maintained
Good parking facilities, staff were friendly and course was in excellent condition.
The front 9 was good and the back 9 was fine up until 15 when it felt the course was crammed together due to lack of space. Some challenging holes .
Great staff
Great little course, very small greens with run off all round most greens not the longest but need to hold greens to score, great people so friendly . My go to wee day out when in the area and it's cheap for what you get
4star
Need to sort out the food,!
Great Course
First time playing St. Michael’s golf course and thoroughly enjoyed it. Lovely course and would recommend playing it. Would happily return to play again.
