Irving Golf Club

About
From the fairways of Irving (formerly known as Twin Wells), you can see the skyline of downtown Dallas–a nice aesthetic for this fun, user-friendly municipal. The course is mostly an open, links-style design, although a few holes that roll along the Trinity River favor a traditional-style on the back nine.
Hole 3 stands out on the front: a 437-yard dogleg left that is protected by fairway bunkers. On the back, No. 11 is the most difficult–another long par 4 at 451 yards.
Getting there : From Hwy. 183 east, take Loop 12 south and exit Shady Grove Rd. Turn left, drive a short distance to the course, look for the clubhouse on the right side of the street.

Well Kept
It's hard to keep up a public course in the Dallas heat but they do a great job. May be one of the best public courses in all of Dallas
I think it's managed properly.
A long time ago, Irving Club was a golf course called Twinwell, and at that time, it was the worst golf course because the golf course was not properly managed, but now Irving Club seems to be properly managed, so I think I visit it often. Golf course management is financially expensive, but it seems to be managed properly, given that it is continuously managed.
Fun course
The tee boxes are good, fairways are great, the greens are good, the rough is player friendly. The carts have GPS so yardage guessing is not an issue, but if you get in an area that they don't want you to go it, it will stop. You will need to go in reverse at a snails pace. It can happen in aeas that are not near the greens, so pay attention to the screen. Overall great course and I will definitely play there again.
Links Style Fun.
The course was in good condition. The recent rain has the fairways in excellent condition. However. if you miss the fairway and are in the rough, good luck finding your ball. The rough is tall wild grass but you might find a different ball. At least I did on a couple of occasions. Most of the greens were in good shape and fast but some were a little bumpy from a recent punch. There are very few trees so prepare for lots of sun as the shade is sparse. The bunkers are more dirt than sand but it was pretty loose and felt like an intentional design. They played like sand anyway. It’s a fun link style and plenty challenging. I have played a handful of times and will definitely be back.
Great Dallas Area Course
The course is a fantastic value. It's well kept and run, and fun to play. One of my favorites.
Really Fun Course
Overall this place is a great place to play especially for the price! The pace of play and low cart count made the round take a little longer and the range was closed which sucks. But this course condition is great and I would recommend to anyone that wants to play here definitely do it, I’ll definitely be back this summer!
Unfriendly staff
Very disappointing experience at the Irving Golf Club snack bar. We arrived at 6:50 PM after playing 9 holes, simply wanting to grab a drink before continuing the back nine. Unfortunately, the young lady at the snack bar told us she had already closed the register—even though it was 10 minutes before the official closing time.
Despite still being within operating hours, she refused to serve us, which is not only poor customer service but also shows a complete lack of consideration for players trying to enjoy their round. After a hot day on the course, this kind of attitude really kills the experience.
It’s a shame that something as simple as hospitality at the snack bar can ruin what should be an enjoyable afternoon of golf.
Improvements Continue
New cart path is great. Practice facilities continue to be great. Greens and fairways are pretty well maintained. Aerated greens make putting a challenge. I hope the greens will be further improved and that this course will continue to provide some of the best value in the metroplex.
