Irving Golf Club

About
From the fairways of Irving (formerly known as Twin Wells), you can see the skyline of downtown Dallas–a nice aesthetic for this fun, user-friendly municipal. The course is mostly an open, links-style design, although a few holes that roll along the Trinity River favor a traditional-style on the back nine.
Hole 3 stands out on the front: a 437-yard dogleg left that is protected by fairway bunkers. On the back, No. 11 is the most difficult–another long par 4 at 451 yards.
Getting there : From Hwy. 183 east, take Loop 12 south and exit Shady Grove Rd. Turn left, drive a short distance to the course, look for the clubhouse on the right side of the street.

Dormant but good
The greens were fast but in good condition. I did have to fix several ball marks on the greens, it’s not that difficult people. Take a minute to repair yours. I like the layout and I’ll go back again.
Fast greens good pace of play
The overall course was in good shape, unfortunately the rough is too low around the course so balls will run into waste areas and woods. Fairways are hard, and grass is a little too short for winter play. Greens are in good shape and most tee boxes in good shape.
Good course, rude golfers
So right before our tee off a huge downpour happened so we had to retreat to clubhouse for a spell. The course was already backed up w players which isn’t a big deal, because that happens often at this course. It’s a great deal so I don’t mind. Yesterday changed that. The foursome behind us starting launching balls before we could even get to the greens. It happens. Yet after the third time of almost getting hit by balls, we had to double back and let them know how rude they were being. All of a sudden nobody knows what we were talking about. We decided to let it go…but it’s unlikely I’ll be back.
Enjoy This Course
I've been playing this course since the old Twin Wells days. One of the best parts is that you can play from the white tees in windy/winter conditions or the blue tees if your game is in good shape and the challenge level is appropriate (except hole #2). This past round the tee boxes were rough on several holes and paying $53 seemed a bit much. The back 9 seemed to be in noticeably better shape.
Great Value with Challenging Course layout.
Found on GolfNow and live in the area, hadn’t tried it till recently but really like the layout and course is in pretty good condition. Greens are firm and pretty quick, great skyline view on the back 9 of Dallas. Plenty of practice area to work on your game as well.
Awesome
Not sure what the last guy's problem was that reviewed, this course is awesome. They are putting in brand new cart paths over the entire course one hole at a time and there are signs everywhere that let you know that this is happening. Greens are fantastic best in DFW. Pace of play fantastic. Fairways are great. Food is awesome, not at all like a golf course.
Disappointed
This course over the last year or two has been a hidden gem. Tee to green good shape. This round was surprised to see rough tee boxes and brown spotted fairways. And the back nine had 2-3 holes under construction with no cart paths. No mention of it in the clubhouse nor a reduced green fee because of it. Wont be back for a while. Wouldn’t advise anyone to play it the remainder of this year.
Best Condition I’ve Seen in 20 Years!
Kuddos to Irving Golf Club! You have resurrected this course from one of the worst courses in DFW to ONE OF THE BEST!
I’ve been playing there for more than 20 years and I’ve never seen it in better shape than it is now!
Give your greenskeeper a big raise!
Best greens of any public course in the Metroplex!
Great job!
