Irving Golf Club
About
From the fairways of Irving (formerly known as Twin Wells), you can see the skyline of downtown Dallas–a nice aesthetic for this fun, user-friendly municipal. The course is mostly an open, links-style design, although a few holes that roll along the Trinity River favor a traditional-style on the back nine.
Hole 3 stands out on the front: a 437-yard dogleg left that is protected by fairway bunkers. On the back, No. 11 is the most difficult–another long par 4 at 451 yards.
Getting there : From Hwy. 183 east, take Loop 12 south and exit Shady Grove Rd. Turn left, drive a short distance to the course, look for the clubhouse on the right side of the street.

Unfriendly staff
Very disappointing experience at the Irving Golf Club snack bar. We arrived at 6:50 PM after playing 9 holes, simply wanting to grab a drink before continuing the back nine. Unfortunately, the young lady at the snack bar told us she had already closed the register—even though it was 10 minutes before the official closing time.
Despite still being within operating hours, she refused to serve us, which is not only poor customer service but also shows a complete lack of consideration for players trying to enjoy their round. After a hot day on the course, this kind of attitude really kills the experience.
It’s a shame that something as simple as hospitality at the snack bar can ruin what should be an enjoyable afternoon of golf.
Improvements Continue
New cart path is great. Practice facilities continue to be great. Greens and fairways are pretty well maintained. Aerated greens make putting a challenge. I hope the greens will be further improved and that this course will continue to provide some of the best value in the metroplex.

Good value
For a muni, the course was in great shape with a great layout. I will definitely come again.
Excellent choice for a round
Love this course and always enjoy playing it. Course was in great shape, greens had been punched recently but were almost back to normal. Other conditions were good.
Irving Golf Club
The course is much improved compared to when it was Twin Wells.
Extremely slow pace of play
First time going the pace of play was absolutely horrendous, several groups completely stopped a few times, never saw a marshaller, no card readers so they have to take your card in to the pro shop to charge you for drinks on the course.
Friendly operating procedures
Very nice and friendly starter.
Stopped rounding and resuming after 50 minutes for bad bad weather casting..
Fun to playing .
Greens recovering from the aerification.
Mothers Day
Went to this course on Mother’s Day. Showed up early hopping to hit range balls, but the front counter guy said they were short staffed so they had no balls to give. Bummer. Was able to start on time but we got stuck behind 4 high schoolers who destroyed the pace of play. Had the entire course waiting on them. Having a Marshall would help if they weren’t short staffed. Greens were aerated on the front 9 but we weren’t told about it, but luckily the back 9 was great. Really liked the lay out and a ton of par 4’s and 5’s. I would give it one more chance once they are staffed.
ONLY BACK 9 WAS OPEN
I’ve played here probably a dozen times, and I really enjoy the course! Unfortunately, they were only allowing play on the back 9 because they were punching the front 9. They did not inform me of this until I had already paid for 18 holes online and checked in for my tee time at the course. Staff said I could play the back 9 twice since I paid for 18 holes. Just would’ve been nice to get a heads up that the front 9 was closed before booking and paying for my tee time. I would suggest calling before your tee time to make sure they have the whole course open!!
