About
From the fairways of Irving (formerly known as Twin Wells), you can see the skyline of downtown Dallas–a nice aesthetic for this fun, user-friendly municipal. The course is mostly an open, links-style design, although a few holes that roll along the Trinity River favor a traditional-style on the back nine.
Hole 3 stands out on the front: a 437-yard dogleg left that is protected by fairway bunkers. On the back, No. 11 is the most difficult–another long par 4 at 451 yards.
Getting there : From Hwy. 183 east, take Loop 12 south and exit Shady Grove Rd. Turn left, drive a short distance to the course, look for the clubhouse on the right side of the street.

Fun and challenging course
Unfortunate rained the day we played and carts don’t have back rain covers. Really enjoyed course bunkers just where I hit each drive. Yes you need to know your distances and lay up etc. greens putted true. We did both lose balls in the rough/wetland so bring some extras. Thought good value for money would love to play on fine day. Also Bushnell Phantom GPS doesn’t have course which was a challenge as we from NZ and use metres. Recommend a visit.
Great conditions for season changes
Course was in nice shape given the crazy weather we have had this month. Price was great through GN. Recommend the course.

Good First Time
I’m planning to go back many times during growing season. Despite the conditions of the course due to rain and dormancy, I still enjoyed playing my round.
I wouldn’t recommend trying to play the course after a rain for a few days because it seems like many sections of the course pool up. Pace of play was great, and I can see the course being top notch when the grass is green and can be manicured. Staff was friendly - from clubhouse and cart staff to the snack bar and starter. I definitely recommend giving this course a shot. Plenty of scoring opportunity as long as you have the right angles, and I think it was just the right level of a challenge.

Great bones
Lots of great features on this course surprised me including the large centerline bunkers featured on multiple holes. On at least one of the holes, I found the bunkering to be similar to the golden age courses of MacDonald and Raynor, albeit on a less grand scale and in far worse shape.
Unfortunately the quality of the turf was in line with the price of the course. There are also a number of quirks like the par 3 18th which I found to be an underwhelming ending.
With that said, it’s a solid option for those looking for something different at an affordable price.

Water from the Rain storms

Overall good round. Greens could use a little TLC but typical for Feb. golf. Other than that, the course could use ball washers (none throughout the course).
Major negative: we left a speaker/range finder attached to the cart (our fault admittedly) and when we called, the staff at the pro shop’s initial response was that if anything was left in the cart, they clean the carts between rounds and any item left behind would’ve been found/turned in. Essentially blowing it off. Based on the pro shop response and procedures they cited, it only seems possible that the speaker was taken by a staff member (unless the cart was not gone through/cleaned out/washed between our round and the next like it was said to be). Unfortunate ending to a fun round.

Consistently good course
I play at IGC very often and really enjoy layout and maintenance. My only suggestion is if they can re-paint the yardage markers for 100-150-200-250 on the cart path again. I know everyone has laser range finders and such, but it is still nice to have some on course reference for distance.

Really a nice course
The course in the wintertime was very good. The greens rolled well and were green. For a few holes, the landfill stinks, which is a drawback. But we liked the course. We would play there again. Good value.

We had to quit after 9 holes due to the stench of sewage.
Only played there once before and don’t recall the same issue. Was having a good round and wanted to continue but …….

Course Closed with no notice
Showed up for my tee time today to a locked gate and no notice that the course would be closed today. An email, phone call or anything would have been nice to not have wasted my time driving out.

Fun Course To Play
It was very wet after some heavy rain but overall, the course, especially greens were in good shape. This is a fun course to play, challenging enough for all skill levels with plenty of interesting features on many holes. Alwats enough the course and the friendly environment
