Irving Golf Club
About
From the fairways of Irving (formerly known as Twin Wells), you can see the skyline of downtown Dallas–a nice aesthetic for this fun, user-friendly municipal. The course is mostly an open, links-style design, although a few holes that roll along the Trinity River favor a traditional-style on the back nine.
Hole 3 stands out on the front: a 437-yard dogleg left that is protected by fairway bunkers. On the back, No. 11 is the most difficult–another long par 4 at 451 yards.
Getting there : From Hwy. 183 east, take Loop 12 south and exit Shady Grove Rd. Turn left, drive a short distance to the course, look for the clubhouse on the right side of the street.

Enjoy This Course
I've been playing this course since the old Twin Wells days. One of the best parts is that you can play from the white tees in windy/winter conditions or the blue tees if your game is in good shape and the challenge level is appropriate (except hole #2). This past round the tee boxes were rough on several holes and paying $53 seemed a bit much. The back 9 seemed to be in noticeably better shape.
Great Value with Challenging Course layout.
Found on GolfNow and live in the area, hadn’t tried it till recently but really like the layout and course is in pretty good condition. Greens are firm and pretty quick, great skyline view on the back 9 of Dallas. Plenty of practice area to work on your game as well.
Awesome
Not sure what the last guy's problem was that reviewed, this course is awesome. They are putting in brand new cart paths over the entire course one hole at a time and there are signs everywhere that let you know that this is happening. Greens are fantastic best in DFW. Pace of play fantastic. Fairways are great. Food is awesome, not at all like a golf course.
Disappointed
This course over the last year or two has been a hidden gem. Tee to green good shape. This round was surprised to see rough tee boxes and brown spotted fairways. And the back nine had 2-3 holes under construction with no cart paths. No mention of it in the clubhouse nor a reduced green fee because of it. Wont be back for a while. Wouldn’t advise anyone to play it the remainder of this year.
Best Condition I’ve Seen in 20 Years!
Kuddos to Irving Golf Club! You have resurrected this course from one of the worst courses in DFW to ONE OF THE BEST!
I’ve been playing there for more than 20 years and I’ve never seen it in better shape than it is now!
Give your greenskeeper a big raise!
Best greens of any public course in the Metroplex!
Great job!
Pace of playing
First things first, love the course and the greens are so beautiful. Fast and true.. Unfortunately during my round we got stuck behind a group of older guys who took for ever to do anything. The group behind us, some dude with a fat chick who never played before keep hitting into us.. Called the club house a few time's and nothing got done! Never saw a marshal from 1-18…. Same old story, golfers playing from the wrong tees and no class or respect for the game or fellow golfers!!
Really good value for the price
Everything on the course was great besides a handful of tee boxes. A handful of tee boxes were dirt. The fairways were really good and the greens were actually great! Overall great value for the price. Plus bbq Friday-Sunday is a bonus!
Nice layout
Irving Golf Club is a fun and challenging course to play. Pace of play was good. Greens and fairways are in good shape. They are working on the cart paths. Will definitely play again.
Pleasant surprise
Hadn’t played since it was twin wells… pleasant surprise
Great Value for Money
First time playing the course. Really enjoyed my round. Course is moderately challenging with some water and hazards but a lot of open fairways that are forgiving for newer players. Overall, the course was in very good shape other than a few tee boxes. Only negative was it was hot and only saw drink cart one-time entire round. Would definitely recommend and will play again. For the value, one of best course for the money that I've played in the area, will definitely be back.
Course in good condition. there was a sewer smell throughout the course. Pretty sure there was a busted pipe somewhere.
Well planned, cared for course
Great shape, they’re replacing the cart paths so u have to adapt at times. Course is challenging great price and friendly people.
Great condition
Loved the course. I have played here for years and it is in the best shape in a long time. Would absolutely play again!!!!!
New to Texas golf.
Course was in good condition. A different style down here in Texas. Around the greens is soft and sponge like, but fairways are generous and fast. Greens were in excellent condition and not the easiest. Great experience and now understand why Texas golfers are so creative. GPS carts are great, with built-in coolers 👍
