Irving Golf Club
About
From the fairways of Irving (formerly known as Twin Wells), you can see the skyline of downtown Dallas–a nice aesthetic for this fun, user-friendly municipal. The course is mostly an open, links-style design, although a few holes that roll along the Trinity River favor a traditional-style on the back nine.
Hole 3 stands out on the front: a 437-yard dogleg left that is protected by fairway bunkers. On the back, No. 11 is the most difficult–another long par 4 at 451 yards.
Getting there : From Hwy. 183 east, take Loop 12 south and exit Shady Grove Rd. Turn left, drive a short distance to the course, look for the clubhouse on the right side of the street.

New Layout
Having just recently moved to the area, I was very pleasantly surprised by the golf course. The guys I got paired up with said the old course was a “goat path.” The new routing just opened in October, so some growing pains are reasonably expected. There are some areas that are still a little rough, but generally speaking the golf course is very playable. It’s a little short, and there are some spots that need to “grow in.” For a muni it’s a good deal and should only get better as it ages.
Good Round
Greens have almost filled in completely, running true/fast and fairways are in excellent condition. Tee boxes could use some TLC.
I'll be back to play soon.
Disco
Good course
We enjoyed the course as much as we could with temps hovering in the high nighties…at 8 am. There is shade along most of the course…so that Course was in good shape and there were some challenging holes. Pace of play really picked up on the back 9 and we finished in about 4 hrs 15 mins. We will play there again.
Good bang for the buck
I play IGC once a week. Good layout and great value for the money. They keep the course in good shape.
Always great!
My new favorite course. Best value in town for a public course. Greens and fairways in great shape.
Great value, and friendly for high handicaps
My son and I played, and he is a beginner. It was forgiving for new players, and accessible for lower handicap players. The conditions were great! They are doing a good job for a more value course in the metroplex. We’ll play again, and recommend to anyone as of the next few weeks. Great job, IGF.
Hidden Gem
I was in town for a conference and I was looking for some place close to the Hilton Anatole. I didn’t get my hopes up too high because I didn’t know the course. I was pleasantly surprised at the layout of the course and its conditions. The fairways and greens were top notch. The bunkers lacked a bit of consistency but overall it was a great experience. The fairways were very forgiving and the greens were favorable. I would recommend it to anyone.
Best day of golf due to the rain
It rained before my 10am tee time and lots of golfers must have cancelled becuase the course was wide open and I played alone. It was cart path only but I finished in about 3 hours. Weather was unseasonably cooler due the weather. Glad I decided to go
Irving GC
This course is a nice layout with good greens. They have some nice aspects such as practice area. Putting greens , water bottles in your cart, and water on the course.
Another great day at IGC
From the first time I played this since it was Twin Wells, I have been astounded by the excellent condition of the course, especially the greens. This has become, by far, my favorite course. The fairways are well groomed and forgiving. The greens are always fun to put on. my only two criticisms are that the the sand traps need some work on keeping them "sandy" and not something you just pick your ball out of because they are not worth trying to hit out of, and they really need to have someone regularly going around checking on the water jugs, especially during the summer months. Played there yesterday in 100+ degree weather, and by the time we hit the turn at noon, the water jugs were empty on the back nine. All in all, always a great experience at this course!
Will play again
Fairways and greens were in excellent shape and courses well maintained
Great layout with awesome view
Great round
Course seldom disappoints. Currently in great condition..Fairways excellent, sandtraps well maintained, and greens are FAST. From walking into clubhouse, greetings with starter, and 18 holes of golf, it was truly a welcomed experience
