Osprey Point Golf Club - Falcon/Raven Course
About
Situated on what used to be farmland and later used for shellrock mining, Osprey Point Golf Club is hardly recognizable from its former landscape. The Parks and Rec Department of Palm Beach County took the abandoned land in South County Regional Park that was completely overgrown and turned it into Florida's first Audubon International Classic Signature Golf Course. To achieve this designation, the department instituted several environmental protection practices, increased the acres of natural habitat, and converted to more environmentally friendly grass on the tees, greens, and fairways. The golf course offers 27 holes that are played in three different combinations. The Falcon/Raven Course is one of the combinations. It has a rolling landscape that is enhanced by native vegetation and a playable quality thanks to five sets of tees.

Great course
We love to play this course when the price is right. It's in great shape & I love the staff & facilities. This time, we played Hawk/Raven & enjoyed our day. The course was in great shape. It's close to the Everglades, but it drains really well & you can take the carts all over. That's a bonus on a hot day! We will be back!
Nice Layout
All three nine hole courses are interesting and the whole place is very well maintained. It is one of my favorites in the area. It is an icon of what a public could be when done right. So glad I found it and get to play there regularly.
We too are very glad that you found us! Thanks so much for the awesome review and for the continued support.
Very Good Golf Course save for COLD reception from the Starter.
Played Raven/Falcon and enjoyed my outing. The golf course was in excellent shape. Booked a tee time on GolfNow but no evidence of the booking in their system. They still accommodated me and off I went. Identified myself to the starter and he asked if I was a single and upon answering yes, he shouted to someone "Hey .... you can play with..." which I was ok but that was it. The person asked what course I was playing and he could see the puzzlement in my face because the starter did not provide any information as to which of the 3 nines I was starting on. Safe to say, the starter was completely unfriendly as if I was inconveniencing him as he shared zero information about the course to me. I am use to a bit more interaction from most starters especially as this was my first time playing here. He said absolutely nothing and the starter could use a basic lesson in customer service. Share a bit of basic knowledge about the course or at least, which course I was starting on to first timers. To that end I cannot give it 5 stars.
We are terribly sorry to hear about your experience. We do our very best to provide an extremely high level of customer service to every single one of our gusts. Please send us an email at golf@pbcgov.com so we can learn a bit more and address this with our staff. Thank you for playing.
Best/most affordable public golf course in south florida
This course is top tier when it comes to public golf courses in south florida, and for the twilight rate in the summer you can get out for 20 bucks, really cant beat that. Course layout has a nice links golf feel to it, and doesnt feel like your typical Florida course with many elevated teeboxes and greens.I have a few complaints with the staff, while many are helpful and friendly there are an equal amount that are curmudgeons and seem to have no idea what they are doing. Also, if you book your time on GOLFNOW call ahead and make sure it is valid, there have been multiple times I have booked on golfnow only to show up at the course and being told I cant play (tournaments, overbooking, etc.) which is exceptionally annoying. However, the course is great and I can usually look past this.
First and foremost, thanks for the continued support. We are very sorry to hear that you have not experienced the best customer service from our staff. We would love to hear more about your experiences so we can address it with our staff. Please send us an email at golf@pbcgov.com. Thanks for the five-star review.
We appreciate the five-star review. Thanks for coming out to play!
Can This Be a Public Course?
My sons and I were very pleasantly surprised upon arrival throughout practice and play. The condition and size of the practice facility, the practice golf balls and the practice greens were a very impressive beginning to a day of golf with my sons. The course condition rivaled those of finer private tracts .The pristine condition of the course fairways and tee boxes.....The greens were recently aerated so no comparing them as of yet....
The overall cleanliness, total organization and staff professionalism where obvious throughout. It will now become my home course. If Cypress Point had indoor dining instead of just a hot dog eating facility it would offer itself in a totally new class and put a spit shine on what is truly a remarkable public facility.......
It is indeed a fully public course! What an awesome review. It's hard to beat a day on the links with family. As for the food and beverage comment, all we can say there is ... stay tuned. We'll see you again soon.
Best public course in South Florida
Excellent all round. Greens just punched but still great course.
You'll have to come back once the putting surfaces have healed so you can get the full experience. Thanks for the review.
Always a good course
Good conditions
Starter not quite the nicest person
Will always come back
Good Course
This course looks and is very much like a resort style track. Greens are well done, they were a bit slow the day we played but rolling very true.
This was the second time I have out so there were some surprises due to lack of course knowledge. The best bargains are to had out of season when tube snow birds are back up north.
Beautiful setting
Beautiful landscape with generous fairways but trouble everywhere if you spray it off course. Highly recommend playing here.
We're as far west as you can be without being in the everglades, although on some holes it feels like you might be. The landscape and wildlife really do make an already great golf course even better. Thanks for playing.
Best Public Course in South Florida
Great condition, great layout, great practice area.
Simply the go to place for serious players.
Actually, we're the go-to place for ALL players. We'll take the title "Best Public Course in South Florida" all day long! Thanks for coming out.
Excellent experience
Deserves outstanding reviews on every level. Totally professional and knowledgeable staff who know how a corse should be run.
Wow, thank you for the kind words! We do our very best to deliver the best experience possible to each and every guest. See you again soon!
the secret is out
one of the best public courses in SFL and doesn't cost a lot to play. They have three nine whole courses and you combine two of them to make your 18. Very well maintained and very busy but pace was not bad. It was a last minute tee time so we did not know what we would be seeing buy we will be back for sure
Thanks so much for checking us out! We're glad to hear you enjoyed yourself and that you plan to return soon. Keep it in the short stuff.
love it
always find this track in good condition, very fun course.
Thanks for making the trip up from Fort Lauderdale. We do our absolute best to keep the course in the best shape possible all year round.
Great course. Iffy service.
Played for the first time at Osprey Point today while on vacation. The course is awesome! The tees, fairways and greens were in wonderful shape. The fairways are wide but if you miss them your ball is completely gone. The layout is pretty interesting. And the shorter par 4s actually gave me the most trouble Bc they are tighter and rely on some local course knowledge that I didn't have. I played the falcon and raven 9s and thought the raven to be the more difficult of the two. The staff was somewhat iffy. The guy who checked me in at the clubhouse was great. And so was the gentlemen who wiped my clubs off after my round. However, when I pulled up the guy at the bag dropped actually said are you sure you wanna play here? This rain is gonna last for a while. Well I was your typical south Florida 10 min shower and was over by the time I got checked in. When I cam back out no one had put my bag in a cart and I stood there next to my bag for 10 minutes while several cart boys walked by me without asking if they could help. I am not above putting my on bag on my cart. I usually do at home. But I didn't know which cart these gentlemen wanted me to use in the shed. My advice is to go and play though Bc the value and quality of the course far outweighs 1 rude employee.
The best part is -- the price is right all year round! Thanks for taking the trip up from Coral Springs to spend the day with us.
