Pearland Golf Club
About
Pearland Golf Club opened in 1982 after Jay Riviere was brought in to build the course as the centerpiece of a residential development for senior citizens. Mike Hoelzer rolled through in the late 1990s for a redesign on this fairly basic 18-hole golf course. The short design features generous fairways and prominent bunkering around the undulating greens. Lakes and ponds have been added over the years and impact play on most holes. Trees have also been added over the years to spice up the flat, prairie-like course.
No. 9 is one of the toughest holes, a 440-yard par 4 that doglegs and has water. No. 16 is considered Pearland's signature -- a 554-yard par 5 that also doglegs and has water in play.

Go Golf
Tee boxes were in good shape. Fairways had a few areas that were identified and needed repairs that were occurring. I don’t have a problem with a course that is doing maintenance. They were aerating the fairways and had fertilized hoping on some rain! We need it. The greens rolled nice! They usually always do. I like this course.
Great course
One of the nicest courses I’ve played in Houston. Their greens were amazing and their fairways were just as good. Overall it’s not an easy course but it’s well worth the money. There was an older crowd when I played during the day on a weekday so the pace of play was pretty slow. Other than that the course was amazing.
We really appreciate you leaving a review and rating us. We will make sure this positive message gets passed along. Book another round with us soon!
Good bang for the buck!
It is a great value course ,well maintained and fun to play even though it got challenging at times.I would definately play this course again.
We appreciate you taking the time to leave a review. Your feedback is so important to us and we will make sure this gets passed along.
Nice
I don’t lay this course once a month or so and it’s always in great condition, unless it has been raining. Today was no acception. Perfect greens and lush fairways. Only saw 2 other groups while I was playing. Great little gem.
We appreciate you leaving a review and rating us. We will inform the entire team, so they know their hard work is paying off. We look forward to having you back!
Perfect
The course is in really good shape, tee boxes, fairways, and greens. There was hardly anybody there, and one of our players was late. We still weren’t in a rush by people. It’s the second time I have played there and you can’t beat the HOT DEAL prices we had! We’ll definitely play again! The first hole is getting some plumbing done in the fairway, so you start off about 150yds from the flag. Other than that, it’s a great course!
Thank you for the 5 stars! We are happy to see you enjoyed your experience with us. We look forward to having you back.
Best value for your money
For the price I payed, this is the best course you’ll find. Greens roll well. Fairways cut great. Fun layout with mixture of straight holes and dog legs. I highly recommend.
Thank you for the 5 stars! We appreciate the feedback on our course conditions.
Cloudy Day
Cloudy conditions and some light rain must have kept people away. Seemed to have the course to myself. Fairways and greens in above average condition for time of year. Greens were playing slow due to rain but otherwise a great day of golf.
Buckley review
Course is in good shape, except too many people are driving carts on fairway when ‘no carts allowed’ is in force. Huge golf cart tracks in fairways and in many roughs! (Suggest more signage telling people ‘ no carts allowed today’. Also need the Ranger to enforce cart policy better!
Staff is extremely friendly.
Great value
First time playing this course. Was very impressed, it’s a old course so very short layout and tight. Tee box, fairways and greens all 5 stars. Greens are a little slow but run true and look amazing.
I will be back when the course dries out.
Thank you for the 5 stars! We appreciate the feedback.
Thank you for taking the time to review the course and rate us. We are going to pass along your feedback to the staff so they can work to make changes. Thanks for visiting us!
Very wet
Prett disappointed as the course was just to wet to play. Weather has been a factor and they have been on cart path only for a month.
We are sorry to see that your overall experience was anything short of 5 stars. We hope you'll give us another try in the near future.
Thank you so much for leaving us with your feedback. We value our customer experience, so your review is important to us. We will make note and we hope to see you back!
Pretty good day
Course was pretty wet do cart path only but that’s expected this time of year. Greens were in good shape mostly. No cart girl. Pretty slow, close to 4 3/4 hour round.
If you like walking in mud and hitting in standing water. Place is in horrible condition. Just an awful round. Make sure it doesn’t rain for 2 weeks before coming here.

We are just as upset with the weather in Houston for 5 straight months now as you are. Since September 1st 2019 we have received nearly 50” of rain and very little sunshine during this timeframe. We were only off paths for 3 days in all of January. Thanks for your understanding of the things that we can not control. We hope to see you back out when Mother Nature stops being so mean.
Marsh land
Had called to ask if it was cart path only and a lady said it wasn’t. Also read a recent review on this course on golf advisor saying that the course drains well n was in good condition. So we booked and showed up. OMG!!! It was like playing in a marsh land. Standing water all over. We were literally sinking walking to our ball n lining up. How could someone say it’s 90 degree. Worst golf experience ever. Couldn’t see our shoes cuz of all the mud on them. Course should not even be open. So do not play this course unless he hasn’t rained in months. The reviewer that wrote that this drains well is pulling our leg for sure.

Great course and great value
This is a well laid out course and plays great. Even in raining weather, it drains well.
Thank you for your 4-star rating!
Fun course
It was a nice course and the greens are great. New carts with gps as well. Unfortunately, it was soaking wet and was tough to play.
Thank you so much for the review. We are glad you had a fun time and hope to see you again soon!
To wet!
The course was so wait can’t believe they opened it.
We are sorry to see that your overall experience was anything short of 5 stars. We hope you'll give us another try in the near future.
Horrible course conditions
Course should be closed due to its wet sloppy conditions. If you venture out to play, you’re better off walking. I knew it has rained but the condition of the course is just terrible.

Awful Experience
Nothing about this course is worth being treated badly. The marshal/starter at this course on the first tee box publicly embarrassed me and went on a rant about golf protocols and rules in front of approximately twelve people. I was a single and was paired up with a threesome, unknown to me at the time; the designated threesome teed off an hour early, and I was only 25 minutes early so I missed them. The marshal/starter ranted and raved for several minutes.
Initially, I was speechless, since I didn’t quite understand what was happening, then angry, but I quickly realized that there was no upside to arguing or beating the snot out of a crazed septuagenarian. Fortunately, I kept quiet and several of the bystanders started defending me, so I didn’t have to do anything, and this madman stormed off.
However, I did go into the pro-shop to report this behavior and was told no management representatives were onsite, but they did communicate that they knew these types of incidents are occurring with this individual. Wow, management knows of this type of treatment to guests and elects to do nothing to change it! I did get contact information for the general manger and pro and communicated to each about my experience, I have heard nothing back.
Listen; there is nothing at this golf course that is remarkable; it’s an older country club with an aging clubhouse and historic slow play. And now there seems to be resentment to allowing non members to supplement their existence.
I hope you join me in boycotting this establishment. However, if you plan to go there consider some advice from my experience:
1. Be at least one hour early, but you could still be faulted;
2. Be submissive and subjective to the elites there, after all they are your betters; and
3. Be disciplined enough to attempt to play after possibly being verbally and publicly admonished. It ruined my game, but now you’ve been warned and can prepare.
Thank you for the 5 stars!
