Pearland Golf Club
About
Pearland Golf Club opened in 1982 after Jay Riviere was brought in to build the course as the centerpiece of a residential development for senior citizens. Mike Hoelzer rolled through in the late 1990s for a redesign on this fairly basic 18-hole golf course. The short design features generous fairways and prominent bunkering around the undulating greens. Lakes and ponds have been added over the years and impact play on most holes. Trees have also been added over the years to spice up the flat, prairie-like course.
No. 9 is one of the toughest holes, a 440-yard par 4 that doglegs and has water. No. 16 is considered Pearland's signature -- a 554-yard par 5 that also doglegs and has water in play.

The course The People The Condition ... Nice GOLF COURSE... I will bring people here to play.
Great Course to Play
Live in the Porter area but gave Pearland Golf and try to start off Labor Day Weekend and very glad I did. Course was in excellent condition. The layout and challenges of the course are like no others I've played yet since moving here from STL Missouri in May. I would recommend you play here if you've never given it a try. I can't wait to play it again.
Greens Were Disappointing
We've played this course a number of times & conditions have always been decent. Unfortunately, yesterday the greens had been punched, making any putt outside of a few feet impossible. Adding to the frustration is the fact that we had called specifically to ask about the greens and were told they were "perfect." I realize this has to be done, but tell the truth, because after you've driven 45 mins. to find out you were lied to it's pretty irritating!! We won't be coming back anytime soon.
Neat Track, good conditions.
Great job including aeriation alert. The generous discount was greatly appreciated. Greens still a bit bumpy, likely need another two weeks to be prime again (historically, sweet greens here). Mom lives on the course, so I visit and play quarterly. I like the layout and challenge, you have to golf your ball well to score; especially from the tips. Fairways and tees are super sweet. Never had a bad lie (when in the fairway). Rough was mostly good (somewhat penal even); but some St. Augustine creep in spots (yes, sprayed a few tee balls a bit too far off line). Bunkering is severe in spots (very cool), including some pot bunkers. Sand levels / consistency very good. The “newish” greens have matured nicely. Protecting the field here; obliged to report some kind of negative; I experienced an un-raked bunker both times I went to the beach. I’ll be going back in a few weeks, not waiting another three months!
Enjoyed round, didn't like having to touch GPS screen to get past ads.
No Marshall, No Starter, Empty Water Coolers, No Beverage Cart
This course is usually a good value for the price. But, today was very bad. The highlight was the food/service at the turn. The practice area is OK. The range ends at 250. The chipping/putting area is pretty good though. The play was painfully slow. Two 4-some groups waiting on the tee box slow. To the point we had to call the clubhouse and ask for someone to breakup the jam. (no-one ever came) From 13 - 18 took a hour and a half. There was no water in the coolers 4 coolers in a row and there was no beverage cart. I can't imagine playing here again for a long time.
Lose The GPS Auto-Disable On Your Golf Carts!!!!
I play your course maybe once every 6 months and EVERY time I do, I leave frustrated. Your golf carts just suck. The GPS auto-disable function is like treating your customers like they are children. Turn the D!! thing off! You just frustrate people with it. And the non-stop advertising on the GPS overhead is overbearing. Having to touch the screen every 30 seconds is outrageous.
You really need to learn how to treat your external customers better. I know your course struggles financially and I can't see how you can afford to treat people this way and lose business because of it.
Our local course
Greens in great shape. Staff is very friendly. Need to monitor slow play and get rid of the San Augustine grass in roughs. Can beat it for the price.

The fairways were better than I remember them from past rounds. The greens were better than I've ever seen then. My only issue was with the first cut off the very narrow fairways. They need to be cut about a 1/2 inch more so the penalty won't be so hard for missing the fairway. Overall, it was a great round and the course is in great shape.
Great course for the money.
Tee boxes and greens were in great shape. This is one of the better value courses around this area. Only complaint was some holes were 90 degree while others were cartpath, despite all holes being dry enough for at least 90 degree making the pace of play a little slow. Overall this course is a great value and I will be back.
Great Greens
One of the attractions to playing this course is that the greens are well maintained. The area recently had rain so there were a couple of wet areas, not unexpected, and the sand traps were packed. However, everything was mowed and looked good. Pace of play is the only issue I have routinely experienced there.
SLOOOOOOOOW
Tee time at 7:20, didn't tee off until 7:40 because they'd stacked the times 5 min apart. Said we were lucky...sometimes they do it 3 min apart.
Finally teed off behind a 5 some. Made it through 9 holes in 2 hrs 45 min and went home. No excuse for a round that slow. We won't be back
Thank you for your excellent rating and review. We are sorry you felt all holes were dry enough to play on. The original call was cart path only everywhere due to 3” of rain the previous two days. However, we decided to let golfers off of the driest holes but we still had standing water on holes 1, 2, 6, 10, and 18 so they remained cart path only. We never like to limit the golfers experience but sometimes it is necessary to prevent unnecessary damage. Thanks for your understanding and we look forward to having you out again in the future.
