Pearland Golf Club
About
Pearland Golf Club opened in 1982 after Jay Riviere was brought in to build the course as the centerpiece of a residential development for senior citizens. Mike Hoelzer rolled through in the late 1990s for a redesign on this fairly basic 18-hole golf course. The short design features generous fairways and prominent bunkering around the undulating greens. Lakes and ponds have been added over the years and impact play on most holes. Trees have also been added over the years to spice up the flat, prairie-like course.
No. 9 is one of the toughest holes, a 440-yard par 4 that doglegs and has water. No. 16 is considered Pearland's signature -- a 554-yard par 5 that also doglegs and has water in play.

Unbearably Slow Pace of Play
A friend and I tried to play 18 holes yesterday but had to quit after 12 or so due to the unbearably slow pace of play. It was that bad. While the course is pretty nice, there is absolutely no quality control. When we finally gave up and drove back to the clubhouse from #12 – past the slow 5-some that was allowed to play in front of us – we also passed other groups of 5+ players along with parents playing golf with their pre-school aged children running around the greens. There was not a marshall to be seen during the entire time we were there.
Until this problem is fixed - or unless you actually like a 6+ hour round of golf – don’t waste your money.
This course is well maintained.
I really enjoyed playing this course. This is a tight course and from the gold tees it's even tighter. And the greens are in very good condition.
Wish I had know a tournament of slow playing old men 5somes had teed of earlier
Quit after 4 hours with 5 holes left to play
Nice Golf Venue!
We enjoyed playing here and will definitely come back soon.
Great golf course
Pearland gc has done an excellent job at maintaining the gc. Greens are beautiful. Couldn't ask for better greens!
Pace of play
This course has potential to be a really nice course. Fairways were really nice and the greens rolled pure. The one complaint that really upset me was the lack of a starter or Marshall because the pace of play was the worst I have seen on a golf course. There were multiple occasions where there were log jams of 4 groups. The staff did nothing to take care of this through my 5 and a half hour round. Overall all if pace of play wasn’t an issue I would definitely play again.
Great
From tee to green the course was in good shape considering the rainfall the nite before. Crisp fairways and greens in mint condition. A good day.
course is a ton of fun
Perfect mixture of challenge and excitement. the greens and fairways are well maintained making it an even better experience.
Great Value
This is a very challenging course. It is in decent shape. The rough has a lot of hard pan which I did not care for. The greens and fairways are in good shape. The layout is excellent. The pace was as fast or slow as I wanted to play.
Great value
This is great course for the money !
I will include it in my normal rotation.
Weather was great, course was good, pace was slow and pushed.
No carts
Booked afternoon tee time. There were zero carts and backed up 45 min on carts and tee times. How do you book more tee times than you have carts? Twosomes were going off as soon as carts showed up delaying tee times even longer. Course was in good condition. Back nine greens have dimpled. Front nine were medium fast. Fairways in pretty good shape.
Pearland Country Club
It was chilly and windy when we played, but the sun was out.
The course was in excellent shape, and the greens were very quick, but rolled true.
It is a pleasure playing the course and they have tees for all handicaps.
Very fair for all as long as you play within yourself.
We will be back very soon.
Great value
We walked off after 10holes as it was so cold and wet, wish the weather was better the course seemed like it was going to be a fun course to play just to cold that day
