Pearland Golf Club
About
Pearland Golf Club opened in 1982 after Jay Riviere was brought in to build the course as the centerpiece of a residential development for senior citizens. Mike Hoelzer rolled through in the late 1990s for a redesign on this fairly basic 18-hole golf course. The short design features generous fairways and prominent bunkering around the undulating greens. Lakes and ponds have been added over the years and impact play on most holes. Trees have also been added over the years to spice up the flat, prairie-like course.
No. 9 is one of the toughest holes, a 440-yard par 4 that doglegs and has water. No. 16 is considered Pearland's signature -- a 554-yard par 5 that also doglegs and has water in play.

Great value and perfect pace of play!
Course is in decent shape, layout is a little quirky with houses very close to the fairway on the front 9, requires some strategy off the tee with many large doglegs with forced carries over water or large trees.
Pace of play was amazing on a busy Sunday morning, after teeing off about 15 minutes past our tee time because of a fog delay backing things up, we had to wait on the first and second holes but by the third hole we never waited once and the group behind us never pushed us...we had the perfect cushion with the group in front exiting the green as we got to the tee box and the group behind teeing off as we finished putting out. We never even waited on par 3’s which always slows everyone down.
For $35 on a weekend including cart you’ll hard pressed to find a better value in the Houston area.
Great bang for your buck
Fantastic course for the price. Not crowded at all, which is a major benefit this time of year in Houston. Greens were in great shape. I would definitely recommend this course.
Good value for money
Our little foursome had a great time. We did have to let 3 two-some play through us. However it wasn't a big deal. We love 4 holes a lot. There is a mix of challenging and moderate holes.
Great course
It was a great day for golf and an excellent course
Great $20 value
Pro shop lost Control of new play cutting in on #10. Could only get 15 holes in due to pace. Very expensive range
Nice Course Slow Play
Friendly staff, course in good shape, but pace of play slow. We were a threesome and after three hours and twenty minutes we had completed only 12 holes. I had to leave early.
Great value
The course was in excellent condition.
Staff was friendly and we enjoyed the day.
The course is a good test for all gofers, but easy enough that our beginner wives had some success and enjoyed the layo, too.
We will be back again, soon.
Great course
Was a little wet when but overall good condition
Was very happy
Solid course
Very good course for the money. My only complaint is no beverage cart on a Saturday morning.
Good greens, wet fairways
The course is much better after the remodeling work. The greens are in good conditions, however the fairways need some work on drainage. when we played the day before it had rained but the fairways were very wet.
Thank you for your positive review. Unfortunately we have only had a total of 5 full days of sunshine in 2018. Couple that with rain nearly everyday and it has stayed wet all year so far. We hope to see you back out when the weather makes a turn for the better.
Mini swamp
The course was basically a swamp, they should have closed the course and air raid it instead of charging the lowest fare they could get. Would have much rather not played then having to wash my clubs after every stroke. If you can drive it over 225 you only need 5 clubs. Greens weren’t great either. I was on a tee-box and maintenance was digging behind the tee-box and did not stop for me. Course might be worth it in dry conditions, but I’d say go elsewhere if possible.
Course good shape for weather conditions
The round of golf here is fun. Carts with GPS. The staff is friendly and no delays in the pace of play.
Thank you for your positive review. We are glad you enjoyed your experience and look forward to having you out again.
Course Doesn't drain well at all.
I have payed here numerous times. The course layout is very good and challenging as well. Unfortunately, it does not drain well at all so please DO NOT play this course after rain. Wait at least 2 days for course conditions to improve before play.
Rain 2 days earlier affected play
Since rain 2 days earlier affected the course and shots since there was no roll. So this review is not representative of the course when things are normal.
Thank you so much for your kind words about our course. We hope to see you out again soon.
