Pearland Golf Club
About
Pearland Golf Club opened in 1982 after Jay Riviere was brought in to build the course as the centerpiece of a residential development for senior citizens. Mike Hoelzer rolled through in the late 1990s for a redesign on this fairly basic 18-hole golf course. The short design features generous fairways and prominent bunkering around the undulating greens. Lakes and ponds have been added over the years and impact play on most holes. Trees have also been added over the years to spice up the flat, prairie-like course.
No. 9 is one of the toughest holes, a 440-yard par 4 that doglegs and has water. No. 16 is considered Pearland's signature -- a 554-yard par 5 that also doglegs and has water in play.

Good golf
Very comfortable playing course. Need to use most of your clubs because of the layout. Use the wrong club and you put yourself in a bad situation. Enjoyed the day and will play it again.
Course was in great shape
Real good. First time, but not the last time we will play there. Course was in real good shape, tee box to green. This course you are able to use most of your clubs, the way you should play. Go play this course. The only way it could have better was colder beer in the grill. {grin}
thanks
Pearland
No complaints except that pace of play isn’t kept up since there’s not a Marshall or starter people tend to take their time, not pace of play time. Good facility, it’s in a retirement community area so there’s a lot of older players. Staff are friendly, course is in good condition and carts have GPS, its always good value for money. Definitely recommend it.
Great layout
Great course to play ..Staff was very helpful and course was in Great shape.. Par 3’s are challenging..Fairways narrow..
Worth the visit
Course in fine condition. Much improvement. Friendly people in the pro shop.
No marshal on duty during my round. The two senior golfers ahead of me were very slow and didn't take the trouble to repair divots or rake the bunkers. They probably own the course. :)
Surprisingly difficult
This course is nestled in a housing complex, due to that, it has quite a few 90-degree doglegs and narrow fairways. The fairways and greens are in tip top shape though. I played on a weekday, and the pace of play was extremely fast, I think I knocked out 18 holes in less than 3 hours. The course doesn't play long, but the fairways are quite narrow, so accuracy is a must. Unfortunately, I happened to find myself a lot of the times in the rough or the sand, and it destroyed my score. I would recommend this course for the value and for how well it is kept. A huge plus was that the carts had GPS, which was very helpful with the dogleg blind shots.
Best condition of local public courses
Play several local public courses and this one has the best greens. But the front nine greens are very grainy and slow while the back are fast and way less corse. Two hard 90 doglegs that I didn’t care for on the back nine. It’s like two different courses from the front to the back. Carts have screens that are not very accurate about 10 yards off most times. They also have the boundary limits so you have to back up a lot when you get near a hazard or out of bounds. Bunkers are fluffy, fairways are nice and the rough will swallow a ball. All in all great track great price. Will play again.
RECENTLY RENOVATED
COURSE IS CHALLENGING, BUT FAIR, UNFORTUNATELY, WE HAD A TEE TIME OF 10:40AM AND WHEN WE REACHED THE BACK NINE AFTER A FAST PACE ON THE FRONT, THE BACK WAS COMPLETELY FULL WITH SEVERAL FIVESOMES AND THE BALANCE WERE FOURSOMES. WE PLAYED THE FRONSIDE TWICE, NOT WHAT WE WANTED.
Great course.
Except for a small wait on 2 holes on front 9, everything was great! Course is in excellent shape. Bunkers were freshly raked.
Tight layout. Great condition. Great value.
Course was alittle too tight for me. If you didnt hit a a straaight drive you had little shot at the green. Greens were very nice - just the right amount of undulation, but fair and great condition. Will play again.
Highly recommended
First time playing the course and will definitely be back. Course was in excellent condition.
Will Play Again
Golf Now had a great rate and I had a free afternoon, so I thought I would try a new location. Pearland is an older course that is laid out in a nice, but older neighborhood. The course crosses several streets, it's not set up for walking. The course received some rain the day before so it was cart path only, not to worry, it was not busy. Other than the usual things you see after a big rain the prior day, the course seem to be in good shape. The greens rolled true, fairways were without problems. I did run into a foursome on number 15 that I saw making the turn when I teed off on number one. But hardly anyone regulates slow play anymore. I will be looking for another opportunity to play again.
Greens and bunkers in great shape
Worth the price. Greens are rolling very true and fast and bunkers are in great shape.
Best value in Houston bar none.
One of my favorite golf courses in Houston area, especially for the price. Always in good shape
Greens and traps we'll manicured
It's a little tight for my tastes and the par 5's don't set up well for a booming driver. But it's a fair challenge and well maintained for the price.
I like the course and have few complaints. You know the sand traps have been greatly affected by the storm. IU wish we could tee of an hour before our time is no one is teeing off.
