Pearland Golf Club
About
Pearland Golf Club opened in 1982 after Jay Riviere was brought in to build the course as the centerpiece of a residential development for senior citizens. Mike Hoelzer rolled through in the late 1990s for a redesign on this fairly basic 18-hole golf course. The short design features generous fairways and prominent bunkering around the undulating greens. Lakes and ponds have been added over the years and impact play on most holes. Trees have also been added over the years to spice up the flat, prairie-like course.
No. 9 is one of the toughest holes, a 440-yard par 4 that doglegs and has water. No. 16 is considered Pearland's signature -- a 554-yard par 5 that also doglegs and has water in play.

Good Value Course
I played this course for $40 on a Sunday morning, which is probably the cheapest you'll find in the Houston area. It's never very crowded, and the course is in pretty good shape. The carts have GPS in them, which is a nice touch. Lots of houses along the holes, so if you don't hit the ball straight, you could be hitting some houses.
Loved it. Hate to tout too much. Nice little secret y’all don’t need to know about.
Pricing confusion
I purchased discounted green fees for 4 people from Golf Now. The total was about $156.00 to be paid at the course. However because we split the total 2 ways somehow we were charged $84.00 for each twosome. One guy paid with credit card for 2 players and I paid in cash for 2 players. I didn't care at the time however I now know I should have asked for an explanation. The course is very playable. The back 9 are a step up from the front 9 and demand a lot more attention to shot making. The par 5 are not too long at all and you can score on them. Well no.2 does require a precise drive and layup.
Sneaky tough.
I played here two years ago after they want public, promised I would never return. The course was in bad shape. Someone convinced me they had redone the course and so I gave it a shot. To my surprise, they have done a great job with the reconditioning of the course. Looks easy, but ate my lunch. Water, has some hard dog legs and long pair fours on the back. Gotta manage this course. Approach must be good a greens are all tough. Lot of three puts outside of 15 feet. I can't wait to play again. Look to just get low 80s.
Nice course
The course was in great shape. Greens rolled true and bunkers were in good shape. Unfortunately I visited quite a few during my round!
Great value
Greens are a little slow, but otherwise course is in good shape.
Enjoyable course in great condition
Really enjoyed our trip to this golf course. Price was great and course was in great condition. Water on most of the holes makes for some thoughtful shots. Greens were on the slow side compared to what we are used to, but that added to the fun. Pace of play was good at the start but we got backed up on the back 9 due to a slow foursome who didn't seem to want to let anyone play through, and then we had two singles behind us, who were constantly close behind. Singles could be made to join up when the course is busy, so that they don't pressure the groups in front. Weather was perfect, carts were great (GPS was very useful for yardages), staff were friendly and welcoming. Hope to be back for another round soon.
fun
greens in good shape, 34 puts, traps in good shape, three times to test that, water right where my ball landed twice, one to many tree branches. Just what I wanted, enjoyable round of golf, warning I'll be back.
Good golf
Very comfortable playing course. Need to use most of your clubs because of the layout. Use the wrong club and you put yourself in a bad situation. Enjoyed the day and will play it again.
Course was in great shape
Real good. First time, but not the last time we will play there. Course was in real good shape, tee box to green. This course you are able to use most of your clubs, the way you should play. Go play this course. The only way it could have better was colder beer in the grill. {grin}
thanks
Pearland
No complaints except that pace of play isn’t kept up since there’s not a Marshall or starter people tend to take their time, not pace of play time. Good facility, it’s in a retirement community area so there’s a lot of older players. Staff are friendly, course is in good condition and carts have GPS, its always good value for money. Definitely recommend it.
Great layout
Great course to play ..Staff was very helpful and course was in Great shape.. Par 3’s are challenging..Fairways narrow..
Worth the visit
Course in fine condition. Much improvement. Friendly people in the pro shop.
No marshal on duty during my round. The two senior golfers ahead of me were very slow and didn't take the trouble to repair divots or rake the bunkers. They probably own the course. :)
