Pearland Golf Club
About
Pearland Golf Club opened in 1982 after Jay Riviere was brought in to build the course as the centerpiece of a residential development for senior citizens. Mike Hoelzer rolled through in the late 1990s for a redesign on this fairly basic 18-hole golf course. The short design features generous fairways and prominent bunkering around the undulating greens. Lakes and ponds have been added over the years and impact play on most holes. Trees have also been added over the years to spice up the flat, prairie-like course.
No. 9 is one of the toughest holes, a 440-yard par 4 that doglegs and has water. No. 16 is considered Pearland's signature -- a 554-yard par 5 that also doglegs and has water in play.

Good value Course with some challenging holes
Nice place, really feels open like a links style layout but the rough can get hairy real quick so accuracy off the tee is still essential. Different tees so for a longtime single digit handicapper who is right at 60 and reconciling the distance loss I could move up a tee box and still have a shot at the 5's in two.
Fun and Strategic Course
Great course. It is not long on every hole and a few dog legs call for an iron or 3 wood off the tee box so strategy is a must.
Fun course - friendly staff
Course was in good condition - greens a bit rough but that is not unusual for the summer. Nice staff. Will definitely return.
Great course and value!
Played this course for the first time today and it was great! It has five tee boxes to choose from, fairways and greens were in awesome shape and value for the price is great. Carts have GPS and the little storage space on top which is great! Restroom availability is a plus specially when playing with women. I was very pleased and will definitively come back often!
Wow
What a great course. Course condition was excellent. Fairways perfect, and the greens although slower than some courses where in great shape and rolled true. They had fresh ice cold water on almost every hole. Not a super hard course if you put your tee shot in the fairways. But still challenging lots of bunkers guarding elevated greens. I will definitely play this course again.
The course itself was very good, however; the greens had been worked on
Great time
Course was in great shape and the carts with GPS was a great addition .
Pleasantly surprised
I had played here many years ago and this time found the course to be in much improved condition.
Excellent greens conditioning, but a little slow for my liking. Very friendly and helpful staff. Food there was good & reasonably priced. I will be back soon.
Worth the price.
Friendly staff. Course was in good shape. Greens had not been cut that day but were in good shape. Smooth and true. A good value for golf on the south side of Houston.
Good course, terrible cart paths
Course was in good shape. Cart paths were terrible and looked as if they were in disrepair for quite some time. The pairings were not so good. 3, 4, 4, 2,2, 3 made for slow play. No cart lady out there, could have made the visit a little more enjoyable with the slow-ish play.
Well worth your time to play
Great course, layout was interesting. Enjoyed the two rounds I played. I am actually thinking of becoming a member.
Great course, great condition
What a nice course! There are five sets of tees so you can play it according to your length. Fairways are green and plush. Greens are perfect. Lots of bunkers on the fairways and around greens. And it's a challenge to escape from greenside bunkers!
The course is hilly in some areas, there are sloping fairways, a few blind shots, and a fair amount of water. It winds through a 55-plus neighborhood, and the golf cart ride alone is appealing.
One wouldn't think something this aesthetically pleasing could be found in Pearland, Texas, but it is a beautiful course...I'm guessing because of the $2 million renovation. Every hole is interesting and unique. It is a tight course so hit it straight. A couple of long holes, but everything is reachable for the 20-25 handicapper.
Staff is very friendly and accomodating. Lunch at the turn was great. We teed off at 11:30, and had no one in front of us or behind us. We finished in about 3 hours, 30 minutes...and that included lunch!
Will definitely play again.
Enjoyable Day
Tee box, fairways, bunkers and greens were all in great shape. One of my favorite courses in the Houston area.
Easy access
This course is a great value. Fairways and greens were well maintained. Love the carts. GPS and previews of the holes was a great asset. Will play again soon.
Nice Course, terrible pace of play
A three-some followed two groups, both two-some and it took over four and one-half hours to play. We had to wait on every shot. Course desperately needs a ranger.
