Pearland Golf Club
About
Pearland Golf Club opened in 1982 after Jay Riviere was brought in to build the course as the centerpiece of a residential development for senior citizens. Mike Hoelzer rolled through in the late 1990s for a redesign on this fairly basic 18-hole golf course. The short design features generous fairways and prominent bunkering around the undulating greens. Lakes and ponds have been added over the years and impact play on most holes. Trees have also been added over the years to spice up the flat, prairie-like course.
No. 9 is one of the toughest holes, a 440-yard par 4 that doglegs and has water. No. 16 is considered Pearland's signature -- a 554-yard par 5 that also doglegs and has water in play.

Great value and greens are awesome.
This course is awesome. The greens are A1. Be careful, you can miss some short putts...fast. Best value course.
Tight Old Course with Greens that Won't Hold
The course surprised me with how nice it was for a old style housing development layout. It is not long, but it is tight and while the greens had pretty grass they did not hold and did not putt very true. I believe they need some time to grow in and some sand placed on top to soften them up a bit and more rolling. Adding to conundrum is most of the greens are raised so a run up shot is not always feasible. I had many lofted irons into greens and the shots landed short of the hole yet still rolled off the back. If you are looking to prepare for a US Open approach shots this might be the place.
The first few holes are every tight and have some blind hazards, although the GPS on the carts was a nice feature.
17 and 18 were surprising long and different character than the rest of the course.
The clubhouse and rest rooms are showing their age but it is Houston....
A great value for golfers
The Pearland Golf Club at Country Place is an excellent golf course for anyone. The course is in great shape after being redone last year and the greens are fast but true. The green fees are very reasonable and a bargain for most golfers. There are teaching professionals available for those who want some instruction, a reasonably priced grill with a selection of meals, and a pro shop with many items for sale.. All around bargain for anyone.
Great course ! Now public! Beautiful course conditions, greens were perfect!!
Great Golf Course! It's now public, which not many know that! Beautifully re-done, greens are perfect! Great place to bring your friends! Wonderful staff , also GPS golf carts!!
excellent value
friendly staff, good value
Worth trying
Great effort was put in the renovation of this golf course. It looks great, it is fun and challenging at the same time. Very accessible to 288. Some people still aren't sure that they can come and play play here because it was known to be a private course. The fact is it is privately owned but open to the public and public play is very welcome. Give it a try!
10.9.16 countryplace
Country place has always been a great course to play. The layout of the course requires skill. Pin placement is challenging as well.
From bad to best
After the reconstruction of this 18 hole course it has become one of the most enjoyable courses I played
Convenient golf course
The course is so convenient to home and work. Nice to get in a quick game of golf.
Pearland
Good course with 2 very different 9's. Front nine is short but tight. Back 9 a bit more open but longer. Greens very firm and not receptive so careful not to over club
Great course
The course is in great shape. Wouldn't mind playing it again.
fast greens
the course was in very good condition and the greens were nice and fast. Balls hit outside of the fairway are a challenge to get back in play due to the cut and type of grass.
Nice old style course
We enjoyed the old style course. There were some surprises along the way... Water not visible from each the tee... But overall, nice track and friendly staff.
Great course
The course is challenging & in great shape. It's a short course but I'd play & recommend this course to anyone.
Very Nice
Pleasantly surprised! Course is in great shape and greens are fast. Tee boxes are well maintained even for the women. On a hot summer day, they absolutely need a beverage cart. The turn does not go by the club house unless you detour.
Challenging
The course may be short in yardage but all the challenges more than make up for that. Great eye appeal as well
Perfect day
Great course, well kept, friendly staff.
slow play
The pace of play was slow. I will play here again but I will not play here on a Saturday morning.
