Pearland Golf Club
About
Pearland Golf Club opened in 1982 after Jay Riviere was brought in to build the course as the centerpiece of a residential development for senior citizens. Mike Hoelzer rolled through in the late 1990s for a redesign on this fairly basic 18-hole golf course. The short design features generous fairways and prominent bunkering around the undulating greens. Lakes and ponds have been added over the years and impact play on most holes. Trees have also been added over the years to spice up the flat, prairie-like course.
No. 9 is one of the toughest holes, a 440-yard par 4 that doglegs and has water. No. 16 is considered Pearland's signature -- a 554-yard par 5 that also doglegs and has water in play.

Come play !!
Played this course for the first time today. Staff is awesome ! Very friendly. The course is in great condition. I especially loved the greens. The pins were placed like Sunday pins. The greens rolled great with good speed. Plenty of undulation on the greens. It takes some local knowledge to score well. Carts equipped with GPS . Pay attention to the GPS maps as there is water you cannot see on a few of the holes.
Challenging
Money for upgrade on both nines--WELL SPENT!!!
Enjoyable round
Very friendly & helpful staff; course was in very good condition (recent revamp helpful) - greens w/ winter grass are in good shape, traps recently redone with good sand quality, fairways bare in some places due to time of year. Small but relatively deep bunkers adds challenge to the course, and makes shots visually deceptive. Course is not long, but narrow fairways on several holes and small greens make course more challenging. The one delta is course winds through subdivision - front nine is not overly appealing. Overall, worth playing.
Very good value for golf course
Fun, Fun, Fun., great snack bar , good food and beer. Staff very friendly, make you feel welcome
Newly renovated
Great to experience the newly renovated back 9. Layout of the course is slightly challenging but fun to play. Will be coming back for sure
fairly tremendous green
im excited and overwhelmed fairway are totally remarkable...plus the greens are designed amazingly adorable.
very pleasantly surprised
First time playing the course. They just underwent major overhaul apparently. They did a nice job. Players of all levels should be able to enjoy the course. From the back tees, the course would be very different than middle or up tees. We played white.
The houses around the course are a little close on some holes, but did not bother us.
Very nice new trap configurations. Staff was very friendly. Driving range a bit small.
Brand new carts with latest technology GPS. Definitely NOT a walkers course. Miles between some holes...
All in all, an excellent outing.
Nice Course
Narrow fairways on a lot of holes, front 9 is very compressed the houses are very close to the course. That is not the case for the back 9 this course has a nice layout water comes in to play on many holes and alot of dog lefts on this course fairways were decent and greens were decent, I would play this course again.
Play this course!
Great course with dog legs and straight holes.
All the par 5s are fun and unique. This is the best value golf in Houston for all skill levels.
Good greens but many divots.
Fairways bumpy but greens in good condition. One problem is, players are not repairing divots on the greens there. This is very frustrating for players who do repair their own.
nice course and people there
it is a nice course, and friendly staff. enjoyed time of playing there and will go there again.
EXCELLENT CONDITION
The course was in excellent condition for this time of the year. The fairways were in great shape and the greens were still running true. It was a perfect day for Fall golf in early January.
Good time.
Course was a little wet, but in good shape. New carts with GPS.
This was my third time to play here.
We had a great time and will visit again!
Golf Course
Played this couse about two years was not good. The course has been redone and now it is great.
Jeffrey Blume Renovation
I like the renovations by Jeffrey Blume! New bunkers that add more complexity to your decisions by framing the green visually but are actually 30-50 yards short of the green complex. Greens are now larger with fantastic interior slopes and are surrounding by huge areas of first cut rough.
The course has always been tight as it winds through the neighborhood, there are many holes which require strategy over brute distance. I'm looking forward to many more rounds on this course.
NEW and IMPROVED...Unbelievable!!!
Forget what you use to think about this course....They sank some money into this course. Fairways and greens are nice and new! No more bumpy rides and large crevices in the fairways. Sand is good and bunkers added. Greens have undulation and putt real fast and smooth. This is a PLAYERS Course...pick your shots...not a bangers course. Five sets of brand new tee boxes. Brand new electric carts with GPS. If you don't manage your tee shots, you will be in tree lines or OB. If you find yourself on the wrong side of the Greens, it will take more than 2 putts. Number 18 is longer now and has a slightly elevated green; nice finishing hole to challenge your golf score :)
Really have to think about your golf here...the value of the homes may just have gone up!
WOW JUST WOW
HAD PLAYED SEVERAL ROUNDS HERE OVER THE LAST 5 YEARS AND THEN STOPPED BECAUSE THE LAYOUT AND CONDITIONS JUST PLAIN SUCKED.
AFTER TODAY JUST BLOWN AWAY, GOLF COURSE IS UN RECOGNIZABLE. BEAUTIFUL NEW DESIGN, CANT EVEN RECOGNIZE IT, GREENS ARE PERFECT MOST OF THEM ELEVATED LOTS OF UNDULATIONS AND QUICK. THE FRONT 9 IS ABSOLUTLEY PERFECT THE BAC NINE WILL BE THERE SOON.
GREAT JOB COUNTRY PLACE/PERLAND GOLF CLUB.
WILL BE BACK SOON AND OFTEN, IM CALLING MY BUDDIES NOW TO TEKM THEM HOW AWESOME IT WAS.
Nice course with nice additions
I played this course a few days ago because I wanted to see how the back 9 renovations turned out. I always have difficulty on the front nine...and that day was no different. I hit a 48 on the front 9. Greens are fairly hard and run really fast. The back 9 was refreshing. There is more water present and I hit it a few times. The greens actually play really nice. The only problem is that the back nine is cart path only. Also, they have another upgrade...they have GPS navigation on the new golf carts. The distance is still a little off, but I like it. All this for a $10 round on GolfNow!!!!
course is okay, nothing special
played on a golfnow special for $14, thus a great value. regular rate was $40 which would have been too much for me for this course. back nine was cart paths only, possibly due to recently completed renovations, so it slowed me down while often having to walk back and forth across some wide fairways. might wait until back nine allows carts for me to play again. greens were in pretty good shape - about medium speed.. fairways were fine, although some bare spots. patches of new grass on back nine, will be fine when it grows in. its hard to see a bunch of the water hazards. considering light sprinkles during parts of my round, I enjoyed the day and the round.
9 hole only
Only played front nine which was in decent shape. Back nine is out for maintenance. Good deal for the 10.00 hot deal
adorable?
