Pearland Golf Club
About
Pearland Golf Club opened in 1982 after Jay Riviere was brought in to build the course as the centerpiece of a residential development for senior citizens. Mike Hoelzer rolled through in the late 1990s for a redesign on this fairly basic 18-hole golf course. The short design features generous fairways and prominent bunkering around the undulating greens. Lakes and ponds have been added over the years and impact play on most holes. Trees have also been added over the years to spice up the flat, prairie-like course.
No. 9 is one of the toughest holes, a 440-yard par 4 that doglegs and has water. No. 16 is considered Pearland's signature -- a 554-yard par 5 that also doglegs and has water in play.

Country Place
*** Back 9 renovations ***
Their website states back 9 under construction and will play front 9 twice. The staff was courteous in telling me that before play. Front 9 was well kept and maintained. I had a hard time the first round due to not having a course description on score card. Lots of water hazard in play. Had a great time and will come back again.
Lady Wee
Beautiful course however it was only the front 9 holes open during the renovation. Water along the course tastes good and cool. Lemon water was served in the club house, tastes even better after the round. Kind neighbors too.
Back 9 closed
Back 9 is closed for renovations. Pace of play was extremely slow. Could only finish 9 holes. Looks like it will be really nice once the renovations are finished. Will play again then.
Nice if you don't mind the renovations
I played two rounds here over the past few weeks, and both times I played the front nine twice as the back nine is out of the question due to renovations. I will say that there is a lack of anything to tell you about each hole, hopefully that will be fixed once they have everything back up and running in September. Friendly staff, a price you can't beat, and very few people on the course made this a great place to play. Some of the downsides are that you have to repeat the front nine twice to play 18 and that there are a few areas where the course is a little beat up with cheap sod in place (although those places will not be in play for most golfers).
Back 9 closed down
This course is fine but the I did not know until I had paid (LastMinute Golf) and got tot he course that the back nine was not open.
This course is challenging
Greens are hard and well protected, with plenty of sand, water and OB.
Nice course.
Excellent greens. Need marshals to keep up pace of play, but was average for a Saturday afternoon.
Country Place Pearland
For the money spent, Country Place is a good course to play. You can always find hot deals for $10 and the most I've paid is $20 (both include 18 holes and a cart). Last summer they improved the front nine, spending $2,000,000. The staff is very friendly.
Pearland CC
Decent shape. Greens nice. Price is right. Will come back as improvements continue.
Nice Course, w/ lots of water
This was my first time playing Country Place/Pearland Golf Club. I'd seen good pricing many times on Golfnow so decided to try it out.
Nice layout with with good size fairways, lots of water parallel to holes that comes into play if have trouble keeping drives in fairway like me. Bunkers in good shape and grass a little thin, but it is winter. Per reviews the front nine was recently redone so likely still growing in. Greens were in good shape with subtle shifts, ball rolled true but speed inconsistent, likely due to recent rain.
Only issue with condition was back nine tee boxes are pretty bumpy/uneven and some spots near green (100 yards in) on back 9 needed leveling as well.
Overall nice course at an excellent price. Plan to come back in Spring and see how course has grown in, if I like it will definately play more often.
course has made many improvements
Greens. Are much improved since last year . Fairways are much better. Good value for the price.
pearland golf review
great course. front 9 has been redone . new greens, tee boxes. also new traps . fairways redone and course is visually better. bac 9 was already a great setup. will be back
Nice course
I enjoyed playing in this course. It's a par 72 course with a nice layout. I will certainly come again to play at this course.
Great little track
Greens were much improved and course was in good shape. Staff were their usual friendliness.
fairways uneven , greens new but already in need of work
greens were recently redone, already have bald spots. fairways are uneven and have little or no grass
Great course for the price
Nice course , great greens and fairways !!! Love playing this course !
New Renovations
The greens were in great shape. Being newly renovated, I hope this maintains the same as the value of this course is well worth your time and money. I will definitely be back!
Nice course but opportunities for improvement
I played about a week after the newly renovated front 9 opened. While it was in decent shape, I have to say I was a little disappointed. I think they reopened too soon..there was still too much dirt around greens and yardage markers were not all updated leaving you to guess on most tee shots. That said, the overall condition was pretty good..fairways and greens better maintained than in previous years. Another plus was it was shockingly deserted for a beautiful Saturday morning..I never saw another group on the front 9 and only 1 on the back. In the past this course has get very busy on weekends so this was a nice surprise. If you can get a good rate it is definitely worth it..if you pay regular price you can find better values elsewhere in south Houston
