Pearland Golf Club
About
Pearland Golf Club opened in 1982 after Jay Riviere was brought in to build the course as the centerpiece of a residential development for senior citizens. Mike Hoelzer rolled through in the late 1990s for a redesign on this fairly basic 18-hole golf course. The short design features generous fairways and prominent bunkering around the undulating greens. Lakes and ponds have been added over the years and impact play on most holes. Trees have also been added over the years to spice up the flat, prairie-like course.
No. 9 is one of the toughest holes, a 440-yard par 4 that doglegs and has water. No. 16 is considered Pearland's signature -- a 554-yard par 5 that also doglegs and has water in play.

The course is challenging, but not overwhelming. Its the kind where you would want to play 36 holes in 1 day.
It was a rainy day when I played, but the course was in decent condition. The fairways need work as they were bumpy from 1 thru 18. The greens were in good condition and were pretty fast. I enjoyed the course and looking forward to the next time I play.
Easy, open course, friendly staff.
The course was in ok shape, but the staff was friendly and the pace of play was good.
This course is about value
Country Place is a little rough around the edges, but is a good course none the less...especially the back nine. The fairways are the bumpiest in town, not sure why...careful w/ that beer!
Presently, the greens are dead but fast & somewhat true. For what I paid in green fee & proximity to Houston area, this course is a solid 3 out of 5.
Great Bang for your Buck
Overall the course needs some attention but for the cost and also getting a hotdog and bottle of water with the green fees you can't beat it. I look forward to coming back again soon
Great price but course needs work!!!
I had seen the reviews on this course at almost a 4 star rating, however when I went there, greens were brown and looked dead with bare spots, fairays needed mowing, bunker needing sprucing up. In all fairness, it had rained for several days ( Mon/Tue/Wed) and I went on a Friday. Cart path only, but I could not find a reason for not having fairways mowed. I walked and conditions were not such that mowing could not be done (there were no puddles in the fairways). I went back and played Sunday (coupon with lunch). Condition on course did not improve and they had run out of Hot Dogs!! The free lunch!!! On the bright side, I was treated to a very nice Taco Buffet which made the whole experience for $25 very nice.
Winter Conditions
Country Place provided an ok golf experience when i played it recently. This course has drainage issues and is one of the last courses in the area to dry out after rainy periods. The overseeded fairways are starting to green up. The greens are in thin winter condition. Lots of water: shotmaker's course. My GolfNow rate included a free hot dog and drink; they had run out of hot dogs, but they did us a good turn by allowing us to have tacos from their buffet table.
Worth $25 for a round. Not worth $65 which I think is the regular price. For $25, I don't expect much.

Back nine much better than the front.
Decent track. Has some fun holes. The front side greens were a bit rough. Will play again.
Great value for the price
Yes, the fairways are a little rough, the greens are bare and too quick, and the teeboxes are a little uneven. But for $22 this is a great deal and a fun round for beginners and average golfers. If an uneven fervid bugs you as much as some of the reviewers, then you're too good to be playing this course to begin with. All in all it was a good experience and a great deal
this course is not too diffcult to play
other than the bumpy ride thru the fairways since the course is still under construction, i shot my best score. the greens are in dire need of help, they are dry and not smooth,
Ok
Pretty average coarse. Sand traps are horrible. Other than that, not bad for paying around $25.
Blech!!
Try not to sprain your ankle on the tee box. They are as undulating as the greens. Also, don't let anyone stand in the area in front of your bunker shot as you may kill them with shrapnel from the rocks you will spray everywhere. Do yourself a favor and pick another course.
greens were hard and burned, fairways were bad as well
ok for the $14.50 we paid but would not recommend or return to course again. sorry but it was not in very good shape
Nice Course
Tight course, greens need work, fairways bumpy and firm
Good Value, Picturesque
Lots of variation between holes. Some holes are difficult. Lots of water which makes the course prettier, but also harder
Good course, good value
Nice little course in Pearland retirement community. Narrow and fairly challenging course built for accuracy I'd say. Its an older course so cart paths and fairways are bumpy, but greens are well kept. A lot of homes are tight along fairways so be careful with that slice or hook. Guys in the clubhouse are friendly and the pace of play moves well. Great online rates. I enjoyed my round and will be back.
Yo Yo
We enjoyed our round, the driving range was in great shape, the course was in good shape the greens were challenging. the staff was great and engaging. I will be back
Great value, back nine different than front, both good
Will play this golf coures again, good condition and fun to play. Back nine in better condition than front nine, appears to be younger and different different in layout. Both are a very good value, one of the best on your list.
Course needs lots of work.
This course needs a lot of work. The greens were full of bare spots and crab grass making putting difficult due to the ball not smoothly rolling, but jumping from side to side. The fairways reminded me of moguls on a ski slope and had cracks in them from lack of water. All in all, I would not recommend this course to anyone unless you like playing on cow pasture.
