Pearland Golf Club
About
Pearland Golf Club opened in 1982 after Jay Riviere was brought in to build the course as the centerpiece of a residential development for senior citizens. Mike Hoelzer rolled through in the late 1990s for a redesign on this fairly basic 18-hole golf course. The short design features generous fairways and prominent bunkering around the undulating greens. Lakes and ponds have been added over the years and impact play on most holes. Trees have also been added over the years to spice up the flat, prairie-like course.
No. 9 is one of the toughest holes, a 440-yard par 4 that doglegs and has water. No. 16 is considered Pearland's signature -- a 554-yard par 5 that also doglegs and has water in play.

Good course but needs greens need more attention.
Our tee time started at 1pm. and the concessions people only came around once. It was very hot. The putting greens need a lot of work. There were spots that didn't even have grass. Great course but needs work.
Good course
Good course. Requires little attention but over all good value for money. Some bald patches on fairways that need attention.
greens in bad shape
Nice course average condition but green are terrible right now.
Fareway is fine, green condition is very poor.
Fareway is fine, green condition is very poor.
Too many people was pkaying and delayed playing
Not quite ready for prime time....
On the plus side, it is a great (and occassionally challanging) track tucked in a quite neighborhood. The club house/pro shop is adequate and food/drink prices are reasonable. The greens are well laid out and carefully protected, requiring a reasonably good approach shot. The course is very scenic.
On the other side...the greens are in really bad shape needing a full over-haul and probably replacement. Very little grass actually on them. Putted through sand on one hole.
Fairways were greener, mostly. There is a weird undulation about them that we couldn't figure out if it was intentional or something has heaved/fallen over the years. It was like playing on top of a waffle.
Water guards many approaches and runs down the length of several holes. With the strange fairways not being flat, rolling into one wasn't an issue.
Lastly, there is functional, but small, driving range by the clubhouse.
They are obviously working on the conditions, there are new sprinkler heads and mains being installed in several places.
Give it some time and more money, this may be a great little course.
Do not pay over $20
This front nine greens were in desperate need of water, the fairways were in need of some maintenance. All in all if it wasn't a beautiful day, I would not of played the whole course. I dont think I had a flat lie on any of the 18 tee boxes.
Making a comeback!
A month or so ago, the greens were terrible. They still aren't good but they are starting to fill in and with the rain we just had, hopefully they will continue to improve. Nice challenging course with several doglegs that will test you. Water placed just right on many holes that will make you think about your club.
i just like this course.
This course is easy to get to and is upscale without being snooty. We just play for fun. The course has water hazards and sand traps but is not overwhelmingly challenging for "weekend" golfers. Plus the people are really nice.
Guaranteed to return
I always find this a good challenge and a nice looking track. Very relaxing pace of play and I have never experienced slow play.
challenging course
greens are worst I v'e seen since huron lakes. they have gotten worse over time but now barely puttable
The course is very nice
I believe Country Place GC
is a place to both enjoy a
round of golf and have a
great time.
Fantastic Course with a Nice Layout
I really enjoyed my round at Country Place and it was in pretty good shape. The fairways are very bumpy which can make for some interesting bounces. Nice water hazards around the course but the greens need some pretty serious attention. They actually roll pretty well but are not in very good condition. Would give 3.5 stars if it were an option. The staff were some of the nicest I have ever encountered. James was very patient in giving me directions 5 times while I was busy getting lost on my way to the course. Double check directions because the ones printed from the GolfNow directions link and completely wrong coming from the Katy direction as the exit listed off of the Beltway does not exist.
Great for the price.
Staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. Greens were still growing in, but putted well.
Please remove the hills!
Smooth out the course! I am from Michigan and this had a lotof bump s, Maybe it was the time of season.
Lot of water hazards.
Good variety of holes. Challenging in the fact that quite a few of the holes have water hazards that cannot be seen until you are on top of them. Greens are very fast as there is no grass on them yet, from the winter conditions. Brand new carts, very friendly staff, great food and staff in the snack bar/resturant.
Great old course, but needs major attention
To start off, the staff was very friendly and cordial. We were a twosome, and hit the tee box right on time, and didn't run into the foursome in front of us until the 17th.
Ok, the not so good. This course is worn down as in ridden hard and put up wet for many years. The tee boxes are not anywhere near level which is good preparation for the fairways; they looked like what's left of a mine field. You'd do far better to walk this course as driving it hurts, and requires an ATV with independent shocks. The greens were extremely dry and played like concrete.
This is on of those courses that you play just to get out there, but it's certainly not one that you bring customers or clients to.
This course is tough to drive on, extremely bumpy.
Greens are as dry as a bunker, you will also have to deal with greens with unusual traps... WATER SPRINKLERS ON THEM! Driving the cart on the fairway is like a never ending speed bump.
worst greens in Houston area
bumpy with no grass on the greens. marshal not really doing anything to help pace of play
An easy course to play, not too busy, but the course need some attention.
The fairways are bumpy and the greens could be a bit softer and greener, but you can beat $15 with golf cart. Good place for a practice round for novice golfers.
