Pearland Golf Club
About
Pearland Golf Club opened in 1982 after Jay Riviere was brought in to build the course as the centerpiece of a residential development for senior citizens. Mike Hoelzer rolled through in the late 1990s for a redesign on this fairly basic 18-hole golf course. The short design features generous fairways and prominent bunkering around the undulating greens. Lakes and ponds have been added over the years and impact play on most holes. Trees have also been added over the years to spice up the flat, prairie-like course.
No. 9 is one of the toughest holes, a 440-yard par 4 that doglegs and has water. No. 16 is considered Pearland's signature -- a 554-yard par 5 that also doglegs and has water in play.

Duck!
First time playing course. A shorter course I believe might have been designed for senior community which surrounds it. Ducks everywhere! Never seen so many different types! Greens played good even in late afternoon. Fairways are a different story! Great carts with GPS but hard to handle on very bumpy fairways! Sand and tress come into play a lot. Of course, where there are ducks there is water! Priced right for the experience! Just watch the ducks!
Beautiful Day for Golfing
The greens, fairways and first cut on the golf course were in good condition. The positions of the flag stick were sometimes pretty brutal however. I had one three putt and one four putt out there. I normally never get four putts. However, I did respond by knocking down 14', 16', and a 21' putts. I almost knocked in a 50'er too.
I can't say I enjoyed all the playing partners however. A little better golf edicate would be nice.
My advice to other players is to not try to make hero shots from treed areas like I did. Get your ball back in the fairway immediately.
Watered course
To many courses let their fair ways go brown in this heat wave
Refreshing to have lies with grass
I always forget how much I like playing here
Better than expected
I had played the course once before and did not care much about it. This time around, the greens were far better than I remember and the fairways were in decent shape. Great and friendly staff.
awful condition
Hardpan and bare dirt in much of the fairway. Bare spots on the greens. Half of bunkers were unraked dirt or mud. Fairways were bumpy enough to require a trip to the chiropractor. Layout is old school tight with extreme doglegs; not a driver layout. Cracks in the ground big enough to lose balls in. Cart path concrete broken in many areas. Only positives I can offer is there is actually GPS on the cart (and it's accurate), the beer is cold and the snack bar food is good.
Drought Conditions
The course has a good layout and is in okay shape for the drought conditions we have had. There are hills and cracks in the fairway which make for bounces in odd directions in the fairways.
Greens are in good condition and hold shots fairly well.
Not worth the money
This course use to be in great shape don’t know what happened.. Not worth the price . Tee Boxes need cutting fairways had way to many cracks … Sad that put some money into this course a few yrs ago to get in great shape and to let it go … SAD
Tee boxes were nice and grassy. Fairways looked like an earthquake happened. Uneven and heavily cracked. Greens looked really nice but extremely slow. Sand bunkers had actual sand which was nice. Staff was friendly and practice facilities were suffice. Food and beverage were also really good. I'd honestly say for price paid was good however I'd recommend for beginners or sl8ghtly below average players that are just looking to play more. Course layout was good as that they had skinny fairways and a couple blind tee shots. Personally me traveling outside of my usual area 40 miles to play this course wasn't worth it, however it did satisfy the curiosity.
From spending all the money a few yrs ago to getting course in great shape…. To losing it … course is in bad shape not worth the price anymore …Hopefully they get back before the fall.
Just Ok
the gps in the carts awesome, the course layout is not too challenging basically flat some hazards but nothing concerning..there are other courses for the same $$ that provide a more challenging experience
