Truly a gem!
Don’t understand some of the negative comments, this course has everything for the price range. It’s because of this, there may be waiting on the tees.
Suggest players who don’t like this, go to some of the other over priced courses in the area, where there isn’t a problem!
I’ll be back!
However the range could do with some TLC, again though, one the best around.
Great course
First time playing here. Some really good holes, can't fault the course at all. Best place I've played so far this year. Well looked after (even the bunkers).. Really nice day and no hold ups. Was strange though having to walk through a housing estate to some of the tees. Will definitely play here again, very good.
Unreal course, definitely going back
Amazing course lay out, dog legs, water, long, short.. holes covered all of the above. Greens were lovely as well and staff brilliant too.
Definitely will be returning and for £15 green fee online can’t beat the value for money.
Only thing I would say is £32.50 for 1 buggy is a little steep but oh well
Nice track
Great course , tad wet in places due to all the rain , but course and greens where in great condition considering.
Can’t wait to go back and play when it’s dry
Lovely course in good condition
Every hole makes you think, but it’s not one of those horrors where you lose the ball as soon as you’re off the fairway. Nice mix of challenges, layout is good, beautifully kept, friendly locals. Will definitely go again
Unfortunately we encountered lots of rain which at times was quite heavy and therefore we did only 9 holes and gave it up.
Perhaps on the right day with weather been a lot nicer it is a nice course.
Sunday 9 May 2021
The Abbey is nice complex with easy access to the M42. Played here a number of times over the years.
Booked today's game via Tee Times and at £15 that is good value for the course.
Some interesting holes that get you thinking. Rough could do with cutting back a bit at the moment and the greens are sluggish.
Overall, a good value track.
Very Wet Day
The course was very quiet due to the weather conditions so no issues with pace of play
Layout in her real very good with a variety of risk and reward holes
My only comment would be that value for money not really there as one of the more expensive courses in the area
Great holes
Haven’t played abbey for a long time so it was a bit strange as I remember the old 2nd and 3rd hole which are not there any more
Back again soon.
Haven’t played here for a couple of years. Forgot how good the course is. Fairways were great, greens good with good pace on them and always provided true roll.
Some exciting holes, good par 3’s and plenty of water and bunkers to keep you thinking. Definitely going back. A pint afterwards was a bit pricey so make sure loser buys the beers.
The Abbey Post covid
Really enjoy this course always well presented and plays well, couldn't fault it as usual, awaiting the the 19th hole to be open for a beverage and golf is back to where it was ⛳
Good course
Very good course, low mark for amenities purely down to none of it being in use due to COVID. No coffee for sale. On the whole very good day.
Great day out
Perfect course for myself (getting back into golf) and my 2 boys. (New to golf). Lovely layout, good mix of 3s, 4s, 5s . Super slippery greens - - we’ll worth the money. Just wished we could have had a pint to reflect on our rounds. We will return
Disgraceful
Having booked this as a birthday gift for a couple of my friends, I was extremely disappointed to find that the course was unplayable and should not have even been open. The fairways were a mud bath and not only was if difficult to keep your feet but pushing a trolley was near on impossible. I even called up the course prior to arrival to check the state of play and was informed that apart from a few wet patches the course was fine. How wrong could they be. I did go to the clubhouse/pro-shop when we finished, to complain, but it was all locked up and staff had left
This ordeal cost me £70.50 and to be honest it was not worth £10.50.
