PREPARE TO GET MUDDY
Played as a 3 ball wed 30th 10.20 booked 18 only played 9. £25. PP is £20 to much pp. A ploughed field would have been better, the course is like a bog, and they're still letting you hire a buggy. I will admit it was very busy today, but only because all the good course's are shut, because its too wet.
Ive given 1 star for all, only because you can't put 0
Complete waste of money save your money go anywhere else or just go up the range. PREPARE TO GET COVERED IN MUD..
Ansty
Should never be open. The. Course is flooded from the first tee to the last green. To charge 26 pound for that is highly unfair!
Anstey golf
Due to recent weather conditions parts of the course was unplayable making it very muddy in large parts probably difficult to look after but thought there could of been more effort around tees and walk ways
Poor conditions, should of been closed
Obviously you cant help the weather but the tee boxes were atrocious! The course should of been closed in my opinion as it was too much damage which I cant see will ever repair. I know all courses are struggling due to this year but it was definitely not worth £25. Hopefully it will improve.
Decent course
Very very wet !
Will definitely be back though well laid out and good greens
Course flooded
Should not have been open, fairways ankle deep in mud.
Very poor
Really bad condition and not worth the green fee. Fairways and bunkers are in poor condition. Greens are ok but need attention.
Return of Golf - well sort of!
I was excited to return to the course after the latest lockdown but have to say i was left extremely disappointed. I was due to tee off at 09:08 when i arrived there were 6 groups still ahead waiting to tee off. finally went off first tee at 09:48. this continued the whole way round so much so I left at the 12th after 5 hrs of play as it simply would've taken another 2 hours to finish.
The course is in a dire state like a mud bath. I don't know why buggies are allowed to be used in winter its churning up what's left of the fairways.
The green are like cow fields and the bunkers are as hard as a road. It seems to me that the course is not maintained at all. you can hardly tee off some of the holes as its such bad condition. one hole we went off the grass to the side as simply not able to tee off.
Its a shame as the course itself has so much potential with some good challenging holes. but in its present state its just simply not worth the £25.
Over priced in winter NEVER play in winter!
I understand that during winter golf courses can’t sustain their summer glamour. However, they need to invest in more solid pathways. Drainage can be difficult to solve I understand that on the other hand, paying £25 for 18 holes in conditions that are shocking is obscured. The paths was as boggy and muddy as the areas by a pond. The greens were patchy and pitch marks galore. The tee boxers were so worn that trying to find a patch of grass to set your ball up was impossible.
Such a shame
Poor condition
First weekend playing after lockdown. Weather on the day was fine but had been raining all week which obviously contributed to the poor conditions. Tees were all cut up, fairways like a swamp. It became more of challenge to walk the course than actually play it. Even the paths between holes were covered in water and mud. I understand you can’t control the weather but prices should reflect the poor conditions. Wont be in a rush to play here again.
Wet day but 4 star course
This is a very nice little (not really little) golf course, price wise very reasonable. The layout of the holes is reallu good some good thinkers hole 14 is a funny dogleg. Course was very very wet after a week of bad weather but not unplayable (i took prefered lies) No temp greens or winter tees wich is rare at this time of year. Didnt get let through but it was very busy due to last day before 2nd lockdown. Well definitely be coming back for another crack when were allowed out again.
They do pair you up if your on your own or two balling it.
Frustrating!!
Tough review to write! Had a great day but think that was down to me playing quite well for once.
Course itself needs some TLC, greens are poor and the bunkers were dreadful; pools of water and unplayable.
Biggest issue was the pace of play, had to wait 10-15 minutes between shots and then you have people waiting on you so makes you feel rushed. Just increase the tee times by 5 minutes and it would avoid all the harsh reviews they get about this.
Course layout is ok and it could be an decent course but £22-25 is a lot to pay for the current setup.
A good walk
The course seem to attract people who can't hit a ball, a 4 ball in front of you with buggies should be quicker than yourself, the drainage on the back 9 is not good, the greens are a bit battered, there is no semi rough there is fairway, and rough, no sand in bunkers, overall its pretty poor, never worth £ 25 a round, there is alot better courses about and cheaper,
Potential
Pretty well laid out course with lots of good holes, with a lot of potential. But the greens and tee boxes are in poor condition and have been for a while not just recently.
Wait times
Was averagely waiting 20 minutes per hole to go when finishing. 4 hours and only got to 15th hole and then walked off as had plans. Not planning to return
Nice course
Nice course plays well , far better than the ratings would have you think.
Will definitely play agin . Only down side was slow play but I think 4 mins between each tee time didn’t help .but I suppose with the dark hours closing in they want to get people on before it’s too late
Better than reviews would suggest
The greens aren’t the best, and neither are the facilities. However, this is a great layout & could be a truly enjoyable course!
The previous reviews must be dated as this in no way a course to avoid. Great views and a challenging layout. Would certainly play again!
