One of the first courses in the growing 1970s Plano community, Pecan Hollow started out as the Plano Municipal Golf Course. Don January and Billy Martindale, who had recently completed their signature Royal Oaks in Dallas, contracted with the city to help provide golf for Plano’s growing population.
The terrain here is flat, and the fairways are mostly wide open. January used the standard bunkers, water hazards, and trees in his design to cause problems for the golfer. The greens are of medium size and speed, and the course is basically pretty standard until you reach the punishing final stretch of holes. Nos. 16-18 are all 445-yard-plus par 4s with water in play–one of the toughest tests of golf in the DFW area.
Getting there : From I-75 north, take Plano Parkway east, then exit at 14th St. Turn right, drive a short distance to the course, and look for the entrance on the left side of the street.

What happened
Course was not great that day. Lots of trash floating around the course. Grass is tall for the fairway. Cleanliness of golf carts and some items on carts need to be fixed. The club and golf ball cleaner was leaking and had to put water in it. Does the speaker work or not? We played a week earlier it was fine. Not sure what happened.
Always a great choice
Love this course - it's always in good shape. We play here often.
Great course but lacking extras
The course at Pecan Hollow is great. We noticed a lot trash laying around. The bathrooms on the course need EMERGENCY attention. The grill can use some updates and a proper bar. Other than that the course is beautiful and peaceful. The pace of play was slow. The young lady driving around the course with snacks was nice and pleasant.
Layout
Beautiful course Always busy slow start first four holes greens in good conditions
Married couple weekday golf
8:55 tee time and paired up with father and son from New Jersey. Fun morning, course in great shape and finished in 4hours 15 minutes. Beverage cart came around plenty of times.
Greens a little sandy
Greens should be good in a week or 2. Still a little Sandy & bumpy
The course has a great layout

First time playing the course in over 10+ yrs - loved it!
We snuck out for a twilight round last night Nate truly enjoyed the course. I hadn’t played here in well over 10+ years and it was a great experience. Love the layout and conditions.
Pretty good bang for your buck
Great layout and features but fairways should be in better shape for this time of year.
