One of the first courses in the growing 1970s Plano community, Pecan Hollow started out as the Plano Municipal Golf Course. Don January and Billy Martindale, who had recently completed their signature Royal Oaks in Dallas, contracted with the city to help provide golf for Plano’s growing population.

The terrain here is flat, and the fairways are mostly wide open. January used the standard bunkers, water hazards, and trees in his design to cause problems for the golfer. The greens are of medium size and speed, and the course is basically pretty standard until you reach the punishing final stretch of holes. Nos. 16-18 are all 445-yard-plus par 4s with water in play–one of the toughest tests of golf in the DFW area.

Getting there : From I-75 north, take Plano Parkway east, then exit at 14th St. Turn right, drive a short distance to the course, and look for the entrance on the left side of the street.

Great layout

The course is fun and challenging. Pace of play is slightly more than 4 hours. Greens are some of the best in the area!

The Walking Dead

My son and I played here Sunday afternoon. We checked in, grabbed our cart and hit a bucket of balls at the range. We arrived at the 1st tee ten minutes early. There wasn’t range martial in sight. There wasn’t anyone playing directly in front of us, so we started just under five minutes before our tee time. My son is a novice player and we play fairly slow (mostly looking for our ball). I could see the group behind us from time to time, about 1.5-2 holes back. All was well until we hit the back 9. At hole 12 it happened we caught up to the group in front of us; walkers. And there we were, gridlocked.

Pecan Hollow

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Awesome course! The greens rolled great, fairways were in top shape, and the bunkers were perfect. You can tell they really take care of the place. Can’t wait to come back and play again!

course is great but tee times are 8 min apart -_-

its a beautiful course but the biggest downhill is how is the pace of play. with the 8 min tee time spacing it’s honestly quite horrid and makes the experience lack luster

Great Course

We got the tee time via Golfnow for a good price. The course was in great shape with exception of some tee boxes that there need to be cut. No starter or beverage cart seen during our visit. The guy in pro shop had a personality of a sandpaper, not friendly at all.
