One of the first courses in the growing 1970s Plano community, Pecan Hollow started out as the Plano Municipal Golf Course. Don January and Billy Martindale, who had recently completed their signature Royal Oaks in Dallas, contracted with the city to help provide golf for Plano’s growing population.
The terrain here is flat, and the fairways are mostly wide open. January used the standard bunkers, water hazards, and trees in his design to cause problems for the golfer. The greens are of medium size and speed, and the course is basically pretty standard until you reach the punishing final stretch of holes. Nos. 16-18 are all 445-yard-plus par 4s with water in play–one of the toughest tests of golf in the DFW area.
Getting there : From I-75 north, take Plano Parkway east, then exit at 14th St. Turn right, drive a short distance to the course, and look for the entrance on the left side of the street.

Great Place To Play
Everything about this course was in great condition. Pace of play was slow but I played on the weekend so that’s expected. Love playing golf here.
Fun Round
Always like playing Pecan Hollow. Course is a fun track. Not overly long or crazy difficult, but a fair layout. Overall the course is in great shape, especially the greens! Love how the greens are rolling right now. Ready to play it again!
Fun course
Really enjoyed playing this course. Good test but very fair. Course is in great shape from tee to green. I like the natural setting and lack of residential property. The clubhouse amenities are somewhat lacking but adequate.

Surprise
First time playing this public course and I was surprised at the conditions of the course. With the dry hot summer we have had many courses have used that as an excuse but the courses here had green fairways and amazing greens. The layout is challenging and penal at certain positions but very fair for amateur golfers. Go play it for yourself
