One of the first courses in the growing 1970s Plano community, Pecan Hollow started out as the Plano Municipal Golf Course. Don January and Billy Martindale, who had recently completed their signature Royal Oaks in Dallas, contracted with the city to help provide golf for Plano’s growing population.
The terrain here is flat, and the fairways are mostly wide open. January used the standard bunkers, water hazards, and trees in his design to cause problems for the golfer. The greens are of medium size and speed, and the course is basically pretty standard until you reach the punishing final stretch of holes. Nos. 16-18 are all 445-yard-plus par 4s with water in play–one of the toughest tests of golf in the DFW area.
Getting there : From I-75 north, take Plano Parkway east, then exit at 14th St. Turn right, drive a short distance to the course, and look for the entrance on the left side of the street.

Great Greens!!
Very nice greens for any course let alone a municipal. Course is pretty wide open and great for beginners. A nice and well maintained short course paired with an enormous practice green make this visit a great value for the money. course is great but tee times are 8 min apart -_-
its a beautiful course but the biggest downhill is how is the pace of play. with the 8 min tee time spacing it’s honestly quite horrid and makes the experience lack luster
Great Course
We got the tee time via Golfnow for a good price. The course was in great shape with exception of some tee boxes that there need to be cut. No starter or beverage cart seen during our visit. The guy in pro shop had a personality of a sandpaper, not friendly at all.
Cart Path Only
We knew it was cart path only and decided to play anyway.
What we didn’t expect was slow play. We had to walk to our shots like everyone else. But had to wait on every shot except for our putts on the green.
Course was in excellent condition, ball washers were available and plenty of water to drink.

Have been here twice and love the layout. Challenging at times but very approachable also. Beautiful course.
Top 10 DFW
I’ve used the driving range for over a year, but never played. Recently watched a YouTube of top ten courses in DFW and Pecan Hollow was one of the ten. So I had to play the course! My group all enjoyed the course layout, the folks on staff, and had a great time. We will definitely play here again!
Great value
Great course. Well kept. Greens were in nice condition. Range balls were not expensive. Practice green and chipping area were in great condition. Pro shop staff and marshal were friendly and professional. Carts have gps and distance monitor.

Fix Your Bathrooms
Our first time at PH and we’ll be back.
Beautiful course, mature trees, wide fairways, quick but well maintained greens. A very enjoyable course. Only suggestion is to replace the course bathrooms. A toilet seat over a hole is disgusting. No running water. No way to clean your hands. Really disappointing for a such a nice course.
New Favorite
My husband and I love this course. It's our new favorite. Course is great shape. Greens are fast. Staff is friendly. People we have been paired with are fun. Only suggestion is please upgrade the restrooms on the course.

Really nice municipal course in Plano
We really enjoyed the course. It has a great layout and wide open fairways but also some challenging fairway bunkers. Fairways and T-box areas were in good conditions. Greens were a bit challenging for sure. Nice value as well and staff friendly
Excellent Public Run Course
Great for the price and being a public course. Carts are all right, some have broken speakers, there could be more food options at the turn.
Fairways and greens are at good enough for me to learn on. Driving range fills up fast.
