Nice course but very little food available.

2nd time playing here, it’s a nice course. Greens were in good condition & consistent from hole to hole. Tee boxes were in poor condition but that’s true of most courses at the moment given the exceptionally dry weather we’ve had. Both times I’ve played this course I’ve arrived early to get lunch in the clubhouse and both times there hasn’t been a full menu on offer which is disappointing and definitely there’s room for improvement there.

Best Course Played This Year

If You Want A challenge… come & Play This Course. Both Physically & Mentally Demanding but I can only Praise the GreenKeepers enough for the Immaculate state of course & how Smooth the Greens rolled. Each hole has a unique feature & despite getting 2 pars on the 1st 6 holes , the underlations got the better of me.

Can’t wait to return again in a month now we know where the greens are tucked away on some of dog legs. We even lost a 5 wood & dashed over at end to find a kind member had picked it up & handed it over. 5 Stars Ashbourne Golf Club. 😎👍

Love this place

I’ve played here 3 times now and in all the different seasons the course conditions are fantastic. The greens are some of the best I’ve been on. The club house is usually quiet but the food and drink are both great. The Staff are really welcoming

Would highly recommend

Hidden Gem, super friendly

Wow,

What a course!

Pro shop very friendly.

Neil and Andy, go over the fact I was sad and lonely on my own! Thanks for asking me to join you.

It really helped in guiding me around the course.

The views and challenges of the course are top notch.

I live 200 miles away and I will be back.

Go play and enjoy the stunning views.

Dynamic fun

I really enjoyed playing this course. There is a lot of variety hole to hole, with wind exposure and elevation changing almost every time. I played an absolutely shocking round and I can't wait to go back.

Course in great condition for time of year and pace of play excellent

Professional met us and knew our name through booking system which is great customer awareness.

Unfortunately on finishing round just after six we found clubhouse completely locked up. No drink to enjoy but more importantly no toilets which meant my better half had to cross her legs all the way home. Disappointing end to the day!

Gateway to the Dales

With outstanding views over Ashbourne town and beyond to to IIam and Dove Dale, this course may not be long but offers something for every player. Parts of the course you need your thinking head on, use your course management wisely. Greens fast and fairways in good condition.

Good experience

Nice course with challenging greens on the front nine. Slow pace of play, 5 hours for two low handicap players but it was a Bank Holiday so it was busy. The course was in great condition with lovely views.

Hidden Derbyshire Gem

I live @ 20 miles from Ashbourne and driven past the course signage many times and decided to give it a go for Father’s Day.

A bit tricky to find as both satnav and google maps tried to take us to a farm. Road to the course needs a lot of attention and in places is just like a farm track.

13 tee off and got their at @ 12.30, called in the pro-shop for my mandatory ball marker. Nice putting green and pond next to it is teeming with Koi.

Tees need a bit of TLC as quite cut up, fairways in good condition, few bits of standing water but we’ve had heavy rain for previous few days. Front 9 greens were in great condition, very true but run quite slow. Back 9 have some disease and are very patchy in places (really hope they can rescue as front 9 were great).

Some really interesting well set out holes 15 and 17 my favourites but 11 will test all but anyone who can carry their driver 250 plus off the whites (My mate and I can’t and he’s off +2 and I’m off 5). Quite hilly in places so be warned.

Overall really enjoyed it and for £30 each will definitely head back there.
