22nd July

Played on the 22nd July @7.32am. 3rd time playing this course. Really well keep. Greens were superb, especially considering the hot weather we have had recently. Challenging holes and some nice par 3s. Always find people friendly as well. Overall for a nice round of golf at a great price plus really well kept it’s a no brainer! Just need to work on my game now and potentially look into becoming a member.

Blind

The most undulating course I've ever played. Blind tee shots on quite a few holes, hitting uphill. If you don't make it up the hill, you have no idea where you're going. Some tee shots you have to wait as there's a green right by your side, or infant. Greens patchy to say the least.

A "must play" in the West Midlands

Excellent from start to finish. Friendly and helpful staff, fantastic course, some really tough holes but a lot of good memories from a reasonable round - I mean, I played reasonably, not the course was "reasonable". Weather was a bit too hot (we're in a heatwave) but the course and staff can hardly be blamed for that...! Despite the heat the course was great, greens well-maintained, fairways dry in places but still a lot of green. Very good service at the bar afterwards. Definitely come again, a great experience.

Disappointed

We have played her before and really like the course but on this occasion the greens were very poor. Diseased and bobbly. The last 2 occasions they were good.

They need to sort asap

Pace of play

Very disappointing experience due to the extremely slow pace of play. I was playing by myself, yet it still took 3 hours and 10 minutes just to reach the 12th hole. I politely asked to play through but was refused. In the end, I had to leave after the 12th, meaning my money was wasted as I couldn’t even finish the full 18 holes. Not an experience I’d repeat.

Frequent visitors

The course is around 20 miles from us but well worth the visit. There are many fabulously different holes but I would recommend a buggie for the more elderly players.

A real “must visit@

Friendly and accommodating staff, welcoming clubhouse, interesting layout and greens in superb condition for the time of year. Marred a bit by recent rain and sticky conditions (but that’s not the fault of the course or its managers). A very challenging course for mid handicappers, a very enjoyable day out. Will definitely visit again.

Conditions didn’t help but course was a bit of a pain to play

Firstly the weather was awful so would need to factor this into the review. The issue with this course is when the weather is bad a) the first route back to Club House is after Hole 12

b) there are a lack of trolley paths c) the same for buggy paths . As the course is sat on clay the fairways tend to chew up when its raining heavy. Also steps up and down from tee boxes need urgent repair as tbh they are dangerous. The bridge over one of the holes needs some urgent maintenance. No real half way house and only saw one drying shelter which was full. This is not a course to play in heavy rain but then again where is!

Enjoyable tricky course

Course was really good and an extremely different layout. The course is on the shorter side, but this is compensated by the layout and gradient. Course is extremely hilly, so a buggy could be recommended, but it is not essential. A lot of blind tee shots. PGA professional was friendly on entry and good selection of usual stock. Club house had a real club feeling and bar staff were extremely friendly. If lived nearer would consider playing more often.

Nice shortish course

We enjoyed playing the shortish course but thought needs to come into play on some holes as they appear to play longer than they are.

Greens and tees need some work on them bu the fairways and bunkers were really good.Good value for money at £18 per round will go back again

Too many blind tee shots

Tee boxes and fairways great condition.

Aerated greens that were practically unplayable, understand it has to be done, but no notice beforehand and the size of the holes made it impossible.

Well maintained course but not very good pace of play

Went with a friend for a round at Uttoxeter after being once before in the past. The course it’s self is very well maintained with some fun and tricky holes. A lot of blind shots throughout the course. Only thing to really let it down was the pace of play as we were waiting more than 10 minutes on a lot of tee’s.
