Chevin Golf Club

Played in the winter months and was fantastic, but during the heat waves it is very difficult to navigate, fairways sloping off left or right, almost impossible to keep a ball on the fairway.

First time on this course paid 20pp and the condition was amazing the course was well looked after in every way. If fitness isn’t your thing then might be one to miss the course on the front 9 is quite a hill climb but your rewarded with great views and a lovely back 9 back down the hills offering some quite enjoyable holes, but you have to work to get to them.

I played Chevin in the middle of one of our heatwaves. 2:37pm tee time, £35. Good value. The course was in good condition but very dry and very hard, nothing the club can do about that. The greens and aprons were lush and in great condition. The course is very hilly so despite its 6000 yards it plays longer as a lot of holes are straight uphill. Being hilly it’s not a gentle walk in the park. Some lovely holes, some very punishing holes, particularly the 8th, commonly known as “Tribulation”. A very hard hole. Similarly 12 and 13 if you miss the green right, huge drop offs barely recoverable. Infact there are a number of greens where misses will be punished severely. The dry conditions made this course harder than it should be. Worth a round, good value but be prepared for a hard walk.

The course is hilly expect difficult shots even if playing well.

The greens were terrible very very slow long grass aerated unfortunately when we played made the whole experience extremely difficult to get a true score. Fairways grass was long too. The weather had been dry so don’t really understand why the greens weren’t rolled and cut???

Brilliant course, with challenging tee shots. Played on a miserable summers day but the course was in top condition. A hilly walk so I’d recommend using a trolley or having a comfy golf shoes!

Lovely challenging course with some interesting holes, twilight price for a 3/4 ball is very reasonable and well worth it for the course on offer. Only downside is it’s very hilly, which is fine for us but some older golfers may struggle walking.

Given the time of year the overall condition of the course was very good - certainly a real test of golf and some great views from the top of the course which is a good way up to say the least.

Lots of work going on to maintain the course but didn’t take away our enjoyment of the day.

Staff extremely welcoming and certainly will look to return in the spring/summer

An incredible course with sensational view. First time playing so we underestimated the steep climb of the first 10 holes and if you're slightly unfit you'll need a golf cart for sure. It's worth the trek up if you're brave enough to walk it.

Played for the first time herein 4 ball and the weather was kind & the course in great condition. Greens great speed and condition. A very well manicured course, with wonderful views. Overall a Fabulous day.

We all said definitely play again and recommend to others. Only thing for us was a little hilly glad we had a buggy.

Booked late on Golf Now, £20 for 18 holes. Really well presented course, greens were quick and in good condition. Good sand in bunkers (ask me how I know 🙄)and well marked out in relation to next tee etc.

It is hilly, my legs felt it after but we’ll worth it for the views at the top. Will definitely play again when I’m in the area.

This was the first time I'd ever been to Chevin golf club and I really enjoyed it. It is a tough hilly course but after the last few weeks of rain and rubbish weather the condition of the course was fantastic. Still on a few winter tees and one temporary green which was a shame but I cant complain too much. The head pro in the pro shop was a really nice bloke who answered a few questions about varias things for me after I finished my round. With the weather being nice that day we stayed for some food afterwards sat outside the clubhouse watching shots into the 18th green. The food was lovely, course was good, staff were lovely and for £35 it was a steal !
