Ashton & Lea Golf Club

Most of the greens were being maintained and the temporary greens were on the fairway in poor condition. Two par 3 holes were put of play altogether. A very disappointing day and we were unable to register our scores to affect our handicap

Played a few times now the fairways are like astroturf walking up the 1st on a sunny day is how golf should be immaculate! Plenty of surprises and variety! 9.5 out of 10 if you want quality for value it's a must try love it

Played this for the first time today and was very impressed. Fantastic greens and fairways and was made to feel very welcome by the staff and members that we encountered. I’m sure I will be playing here again.

This course has always been a challenging but fair test but this year the management and staff have excelled. The course is immaculate. Greens are in a class of their own thanks to the dedicated efforts of the whole team. The facilities are excellent and this has been further enhanced by the new driving range/practice facility and golf academy offering inviting and friendly advice and tuition at very competitive rates. All staff are friendly, helpful and prepared to go the extra mile to make the golfing experience more pleasurable. The pro shop is well stocked including a golf simulator available at very reasonable prices. The professional staff are knowledgeable and always ready to give advice on your game and equipment. Food is excellent and competitively priced, served promptly in relaxing surroundings by the very friendly catering staff. The bar area and clubhouse are comfortable and spacious including an outside relaxation area complete with upstairs balcony area offering panoramic views over the course. All served by the polite friendly bar staff

I could go on but I think you need to book a round of golf to see for yourself and your golfing friends. You will not be disappointed

Great course, never had an issue before but due to the two ball in front gave up after 9 holes and 3 hours

First time playing here but will defo return in the very near future.

We have played this course many times, and it always presents a challenge. It has suffered a little through the Winter, but is recovering well. It is generally in great condition . The course has many interesting holes , and we have always found the members and staff to be very friendly.

Will definitely return as its a very nice course.

Course always in good condition never had any complaints.

Course is always in good condition but considering we are now in November we were surprised how good it was. Greens exceptional for this time of year a credit to all involved with the upkeep of the club.

Good course for walking as only gentle inclines. Some interesting holes with hazards to be negotiated. Well maintained with greens and fairways in good conditions for time of year. Tee time was 1.30 so few people on the course making progress easy.

Test of all aspects of golf. Greens in superb condition. We thoroughly enjoyed our game.

Played on a hot day after a long dry, hot spell of weather. Due to the dry conditions the course seem to lack character, but could be very different in more normal circumstances.

Overall good days golf, course is in good nick and harder to score low than first glance suggests. Greens quick and difficult to read. Only minor let down was the "do you mind tucking your shirt in?" request from club shop and some members, pretty riddiculous these days as most golf polos are designed to be worn loose, lighten up fellas, we aint in school!

Tried to get to a few new courses last year to vary things up. Really enjoyed the change so first off the block this year was Ashton and Lea. Very easy to find and for an affordable price for a Saturday. Sunny but fairly windy for our first visit. Wouldn't of been an issue except the course starts with the 1st 9 circling the boundary of the course. Out of bounds on the right on every hole and with my unpredictable fade, got caught out twice. The first hole sets the tone and is a beautiful looking hole. The whole course is very picturesque and very well maintained. Reminded me of Lytham Green Drive a lot, a course I enjoy playing too. Small hills but no need to be a mountain goat to get round. Fairways are not flat though and humps and hollows on each fairway add to the challenge. Greens were very quick and plenty of borrows to read so 2 putts are not guaranteed. Very enjoyable course and will be visiting again soon.Old school rules so be aware before you visit. Tailored shorts, T shirts tucked in, hats off in the bar.

Well maintained course with mixture of hazards. Playing singly but pair of members ahead of me soon invited me to join them which made a very pleasant round.
