Nice course - would recommend
I played this course a few weeks ago and the pace of play was somewhat slow, which put a downer on the round (even though the course was in good condition) - I am told we was behind a society.
Six of us decided to go back Sunday just gone and all of us thought it was a lovely course with a few really quirky holes.
Really enjoyed the par 4 with the hazard running through the fairway and hole 17 reminded us all of a hole at the Brabazon.
It's definitely a scoring course if you can hit it well off the tee and the greens were rolling superbly.
Would recommend.
Great experience
Fine condition, interesting layout amd very good value for money. Drained very quickly after monsoon rain.
Hot day
Brilliant course been there a few times now always spot on with fairways and greens
Only downside is sometimes there is slow play but tee times don’t last long on GolfNow and I can see why 👌👌
Really nice course
Really nice course, and really well kept. Quiet and peaceful
Aston wood
Extremely slow play, boggy fairways, bunkers poor condition holes on the greens.
Day off
Played this course for the 1st time today and wasn’t disappointed. Driving range was spot on, practice area great and most importantly the course was brilliant. It played long because of the windy conditions but the course was in really good condition. It’s nice and open and some of the holes were spot on 17th being my favourite. Would 100% recommend this course and will definitely be going back in the summer.
Never worth £35
I cannot believe we was charged £35. First of all it's winter golf so it should be cheaper automatically but for some reason, we paid more than we have when we've booked in the summer to play.
Secondly, there was 18 temp greens all which were on parts of the hole with fairly long grass which made it almost impossible to putt on. I was just completely stunned how Aston Wood think they have the right to charge £35 for a winter round on a course with 18 temp greens
Great Course
Not played here for a while and have got to say I will be returning sooner next time, the course was in great condition and the greens true and consistent
Excellent course, slow round
The course was in excellent conditions, greens quick and true with plenty of challenges on most holes. Would highly recommend, although the pace of play was a little slow due to the number of people playing (to be expected on a Sunday afternoon)
Very tidy manicured course
There was repairs been made to some bunkers on the course which looked like full refurbishment to the bunkers which highlighted the care and investment the owners are prepared to make to the course. But again it was only on a couple of holes apart from this what a great course
A Good Day Out
First time at Aston Woods, chose the course based on previous reviews and it didn't disappoint us in any area.
The course is in good condition especially the greens and it wouldn't take much to take it up a notch which I am sure they do for competitions, The layout is fair with water in play on some holes, all quite flat so easy walking.
There is a driving range with well stocked pro shop and a putting green although not all together but within a short walk of the club house is modern and well fitted, staff and members were very welcoming.
So overall a good day out, enjoyed the course and a few beers after on the terrace over looking the 18th - will certainly play again.
Great choice
The course was in fantastic condition with some great challenging holes greens were quick so very easy to three put until you get the pace would recommend for all handicaps .
The course was a great test of golf.
Many lakes and ditches in all the right places. Greens are very testing but very true roll. All in all a great day of golf.
