Never worth £35
I cannot believe we was charged £35. First of all it's winter golf so it should be cheaper automatically but for some reason, we paid more than we have when we've booked in the summer to play.
Secondly, there was 18 temp greens all which were on parts of the hole with fairly long grass which made it almost impossible to putt on. I was just completely stunned how Aston Wood think they have the right to charge £35 for a winter round on a course with 18 temp greens
Great Course
Not played here for a while and have got to say I will be returning sooner next time, the course was in great condition and the greens true and consistent
Excellent course, slow round
The course was in excellent conditions, greens quick and true with plenty of challenges on most holes. Would highly recommend, although the pace of play was a little slow due to the number of people playing (to be expected on a Sunday afternoon)
Very tidy manicured course
There was repairs been made to some bunkers on the course which looked like full refurbishment to the bunkers which highlighted the care and investment the owners are prepared to make to the course. But again it was only on a couple of holes apart from this what a great course
A Good Day Out
First time at Aston Woods, chose the course based on previous reviews and it didn't disappoint us in any area.
The course is in good condition especially the greens and it wouldn't take much to take it up a notch which I am sure they do for competitions, The layout is fair with water in play on some holes, all quite flat so easy walking.
There is a driving range with well stocked pro shop and a putting green although not all together but within a short walk of the club house is modern and well fitted, staff and members were very welcoming.
So overall a good day out, enjoyed the course and a few beers after on the terrace over looking the 18th - will certainly play again.
Great choice
The course was in fantastic condition with some great challenging holes greens were quick so very easy to three put until you get the pace would recommend for all handicaps .
The course was a great test of golf.
Many lakes and ditches in all the right places. Greens are very testing but very true roll. All in all a great day of golf.
Aston Wood
Excellent condition compared with other courses we have played recently. Rained all day then cleared up just before we teed off so very few people on the course ahead of us. Only suggestion would be a clue when it is not obvious where the next tee box is. Plenty of hot water in the showers and comfortable clubhouse is ideal after a round.
Great Challenge
Bit of a lottery currently with dry conditions and ball running for ever but all things considered a great challenge love a course with a bit of water on it and the greens were in excellent condition. Nice friendly welcome got off a little ahead of booked tee time and a good pace of play.
A Gem of a course in the West Midlands
What a superbly kept course, fast & true greens, more difficult than the England golf rating and certainly needs some working out, lovely water holes 7 and perhaps the nicest hole 14.
First class driving range, putting and chipping area, Pro staff really friendly and courteous.
Interesting layout and great condition
Tee boxes and greens in amazing condition given the hit weather, best I've played on for a long time. Course is I with some holes that require thought and good club selection. Pathways make navigating really easy. Highly recommended.
Enjoyable experience
Greens were amazing, true and good pace. Tee blocks like the greens, flat and in good order. Fairways not dried out like currently. Nice and would recommend
Great course
Absolutely a fantastic course, mint condition, very tough course that requires some serious thought and management
