First full 18 holes on this course
I played the course on a Saturday in late afternoon and the tee times were a little bunched up, so slow to get going. I was playing alone but paired with a couple of members, who were very friendly and had great course knowledge.
The course is in great condition (late August), the greens are quick and very well maintained. Bunkers were also in excellent condition, not that I ended up in many. The cart paths were also clean and well maintained.
If you are looking for a good test in lovely park surroundings I can highly recommend playing this course. Will definitely be back soon.
Enjoyable round
Been before never had any issues and this was case today friendly gent in club shop confirmed online booking with us. Commenced play bang on tee time and no hold ups at all completed round with my son in around 3 hrs 15. Course in good condition greens quick will no doubt be back soon.
Lovely course
Staff in pro shop were great
Well signed and easy to find tees for a first timer
Tees and fairways were very nice condition
Greens were really good.
Going to play again in 2 weeks time with a good friend.
A banker of a course
I travel back from Hong Kong once a year and play a number of rounds within 20 miles radius around Lichfield. Aston Wood is a banker, nice course, very friendly staff, good pace of play. Very much worth the bit extra compared to other courses for relaxed day on a well maintained course.
Greens were fast and true
Some beautiful holes especially the ones with water of which there were quite a few.
Green were in great condition and a really lovely pace,
Fairways were really good and the whole golf course in fantastic condition.
Great round
Course well maintained, no hold ups and not rushed. Perfect day.
Great course
I played this course for the first time today and was really impressed with the standard of the fairways and greens. Plenty of hazards but also forgiving sized greens and fairways if you have a decent aim! It’s one of the best courses I’ve played in the West Midlands and the staff and members were also very friendly which was a bonus. I’d recommend to any one local to the area and was good value for money too.
Aston wood GC
A lovely course. Perfect for a sunny spring afternoon.
The course was in excellent condition and the greens were lovely, true, smooth and consistent.
There is some work being done on the 10h and 9th fairways but didn’t cause any issues.
Overall wonderful course especially given the weather we’ve had this year.
Very good
Course was in good condition and the layout and variety of holes is impressive
Thursday 18th
Course was in good condition considering the weather over the last few weeks . Greens were ok some were a little damp . Overall course was generally very good .
Wet
Course was pretty wet around 9 and 10 not surprising after the rain we’ve had. Still just about playable.
Excellent course
Played plenty of times. Always great condition. Never held up with pace of play. Like most places the bar prices aren't cheap so clubhouse usually quiet. Would recommend to anyone to play here.
Nice course
I would say this course even in winter has me considering a membership. Played well greens were in good condition.
Awesome
Considering we had winter greens the course was absolutely incredible
Winter greens made it ok to play in the sense of it was still a lovely course and looking at it and the standards had made me and my friends enquire about memberships
Fun course
Having played Aston wood pre-pandemic it was great yo be back. A couple of small changes within the front nine make this a challenge for golfers of all ability. The back nine pushes you around the front nine before ending with a par 5 back into the clubhouse with water running alongside the left hand side of the green (yes I did hit the water). Only downside is that the halfway house is cash only which caught both myself and playing partner out, so no mid round snack for us. Overall a lovely day out especially given the recent rain. Defo be back sooner
Lovely course
Was a junior member here more than 15 years ago and we didn’t have the best time. Decided to come back as a more “serious” golfer and had a great time.
Lovely staff, great facilities, greens were unreal considering the rain we’ve had. The course was playing brilliantly considering the conditions over the last 10 days.
Definitely going to play here again and if I was still in brum would definitely consider rejoining. I’m not sure if the practice facilities are available for “guests with out members” but looked tip top…. I was to busy with a double bogey on the first🤭
