Slow play and rude
Booked through golf now. Always wanted to play here. 8:04am tee off. By the time I got to the third hole there was a 3 ball in front of me. Wouldn’t let me through. As I was putting out on the ninth a two ball came off the practice green and went straight to the 10th pushing in front of me. My home club clearly states that you can only tee off on the tenth if the ninth hole is clear. Is that not the same everywhere else?? Massive shame as the course was immaculate and really good fun to play. Just a pity that the members seem to be rude.
One of my Favourites
While still slightly soft underfoot in places the course was in very good condition, greens especially running really well.
A course that doesn't always require driver especially the front 9 while the back 9 gets longer and requires the big stick more often.
Played on my own and a 2 ball and then a 3 ball let me through quickly for me to then pretty much have the course to myself (appreciate I played on a Monday and that wouldn't be so easy on a weekend) Overall really do enjoy playing this course and will be back again very soon.
Worth the skive off work
Greeted in the pro shop by very friendly and knowledgeable staff, and tee’s off on time. Sadly a very slow four ball in front of two of us and never once offered to let us play through.
Course was in great condition and a good woodland challenge! Value for money and generally a friendly bunch in the clubhouse. Would most definitely play again 👌
Amazing course
Played here for the first time the other day, let me just say the course is amazing, fairways are like carpet, greens were spot on, just the terrible golf from myself let it down haha, the bar, the staff and the member were all amazing, will definitely be back soon thank you guys!
Course Condition
I must say I was shocked at the poor state the course was in, I played walsall constantly last year through spring, summer and the Autumn months. The main issue was the length and conditions of the fairways. The grass on the fairway was more like first cut rough, and to be honest resembles a football pitch. The whole course, aside from the greens, was very soft under foot aswell. As I said, I played walsall most of last year as it was in such good condition. Not sure what has gone wrong.
Great course, good bang for your buck.
Great course and would have 5 stars across the board but unfortunately the round took 5 hours 30 minutes as stuck behind 8 senior four balls and couldn’t play though or allowed to start on the 10th.
Lovely holes, immaculate fairways bunkers and greens.
I would recomend if this is the case booking time out after their round as others walked off behind us.
We will return as everything else was bang on.
Back 9 closed
Unfortunately having booked this round on Sunday, when I turned up on Tuesday I was informed the back 9 was closed.
I was offered the option of playing the front 9 twice, but the course hadn’t staggered tee times to allow this to work for people. As I walked off the 9th, there were 4 groups waiting to tee off on the 1st.
Real shame as it is a nice course.
Walsall golf club
Always pleasure to play walsall golf course, good summer course with some good golf holes, good finishing holes ,look forward returning to walsall golf club 😀
Pleasant experience
Played in a 2 ball teeing off at 8.20am. Course and the Greens in particular were in decent condition, Interesting variety of holes throughout, 1st 9 shorter and easier than back 9. Staff all very friendly in the pro shop and club bar afterwards.
Driveable par 4s
Decent course, nice greens, abit slow paced but ok. Good driveable par 4s
Excellent!!
Course was in great condition, good variety of holes. Greens were in great condition. Great value for money too, approx £20-25 on a deal on golf now! Good facilities and a great terrace overlooking 9th/18th greens for a post round drink. 👍🏼👍🏼
Played here few months ago and the course was very dry and hard. Totally different this weekend. Looking forward to going back soon
Walsall well worth a visit.
Despite all the dry weather, the course was in very good condition, considering the near drought conditions we have all been experiencing. The greens looked a little bumpy at first glance, but they were running true, and they were receptive to my wedges and longer irons. The fairways were very firm as one would expect, but that did not have much impact on a good strike, and with rain pending they will soon return to their best. Greens staff have done a good job to make the course playable in all this hot weather through the summer. I always enjoy playing Walsall and will return soon.
Tight
The course requires excellent management and club selection to navigate, there is a lot of trouble left and right. Grrens are well protected and well contured, when fast I can see them as tough.
Well worth a visit. An interesting course to play.
Easy to book via golf now and found a bargain price after 3pm and booked in easily when I got to the course. The professional was very friendly and helpful so it was good to be welcomed. Gave me the code for the changing rooms as appropriate and explained where the practice green and other facilities were. Teed off without any waiting
and there were no hold ups all the way round. The course was in decent condition considering weve had no rain for weeks. There were barren fairways in places but mostly decent lies to be found. The greens were mostly small and tricky but in decent condition too along with the bunkers. Its not overly long but still a decent challenge with a good variety of holes. Some awkward long par fours, difficult par threes but also other opportunities give you chance for birdie (I only got one on the day though) along with a few sixes.
I didnt use the off course amenities but can say there are good toilet/changing facilities.
The members were friendly enough on the course and in other areas which is always a good sign when you are a new face. Ive just joined a local course nearer to me but that course is closed for maintenance this week so went for a game at walsall. I would definitely return again and can recommend.
